Despite the pervasiveness of law enforcement surveillance of digital communication, the FBI still has a difficult time monitoring Gmail, Google Voice, and Dropbox in real time. But that may change soon, because the bureau says it has made gaining more powers to wiretap all forms of Internet conversation and cloud storage a “top priority†this year.

Isn't that a little like opening ordinary mail without a warrant?

Democrat administrations don't need no stinking warrants to do anything they want.

Especially when organizations like Google turn over our stuff to the Feds without so much as the whiff of a warrant anyway.

Give Holder what he wants and win favoritism with the regime. Hey, you might even get to eat steak and lobster with Mooshelle.

I use the email facility provided by my ISP, and Ixquick (https://ixquick.com/eng/advanced-search.html) for my search engine.
I suspect somebody is going to make a fortune with a new cypher algorithm for email.

In principle yes, but the Dems do not care for it.

There's a software Enigma 4 simulator at...
http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/enigma.htm
Seems like a pretty complete site, well written history, diagrams, and the link to download software simulator is at the bottom.
Of note; the KO-6 (http://jproc.ca/crypto/ko6.html) and the KW-26 A,B,and C (http://jproc.ca/crypto/kw26.html) were the machines I taught in the USAF from '58 to 62.

They had Carnivore during the Clinton administration, nobody said a peep. They've got this now, nobody cares.
Imagine had this been during a GOP administration...WHAT? YOU'RE GOING TO SPY ON ME!!!!

That Enigma simulator is pretty nifty...thanks Reb for bringing it up.
Now is the time MFGO UHPW MZPT VFBU JJOB COKV aid of their country.
I'm getting the hang of it. I used the Kriegsmarine M4 with the Beta rotor and default settings. Just encrypt or decrypt, copy and paste. I'm thinking of using it for certain emails - not that I'd do anything illegal mind you...(http://www.conservativecave.com/Smileys/default/whatever.gif)

There are plenty of freeware encryption programs available. People should star using them for all personal emails just to mess with the feds.

Don't have to imagine it. Remember the holy hell that was raised over warrantless wiretaps of the phones of known terrorists making calls to contacts in the U.S. under the last administration?
-
Well at least someone is interested in what I say.
God knows my wife, spawn and grandspawn don't care.

Sadly, you are absolutely correct.

Well they aren't building the Utah surveillance center for no reason.
Check out what all they plan to collect on you

All this is why I'm going to get active in cryptography again.

There several free encryption programs available. I have a feeling security software may become a booming field soon.

Awww....come on. The website says
"If You Have Nothing to Hide, You Have Nothing to Fear."
Edited: I just looked over the entire website....pretty good. It fooled me for a second.
