Title: Snowed In .. In March
Post by: mrclose on March 24, 2013, 07:19:48 PM
Glo-Bull warming?

Uploaded these pictures to my BH's Flickr account for easier viewing!

I have a question for the photo 'geeks' .. I never knew that a camera could get photos of 'falling' snowflakes!?

I have 5 cameras and none can do it (snowflakes) except this one!
(Olympus Stylus 1010)

Bought it at a Goodwill store for $8.25 .. In 'Mint' condition.

A stones throw from St Johns Church!
You know .. Patrick Henry's stomping grounds!?

(None like him anymore!)

Great photos - love the hammock!  We got another all-day snow also today  :argh:   I'm ready for some green outside - maybe in a month or two.  We're about 100 miles south of Canada, so we have quite a bit yet.

Nice job, mrclose!

Speaking of cameras, I'm looking for a closeup filter for my Nikon D40. They're only $72. Macro lenses go for about $400.

Tried to take a closeup shot of one of my horns today. Didn't work well.

But anyway, lovely photos! Reminds me a little bit of Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening."

Thanks for the compliments but it's the camera .. not me.
I have No Clue on what to do with a camera!

For instance .. I took the shots with the auto setting with only an adjustment to image quality/image size.

The camera is capable of 3648x2736 (scary) to 640x480 or in this case, a VGA setting.

I have No Idea what the pictures would look like if I took them in that 3648x2736 setting!?

Try it! Nothing ventured, nothing gained! With digital, just erase it/them if you don't like the pic(s).

Step back from the mirror and get both horns in the pic.  :rimshot:

It's actually a Colonial Williamsburg "Market Square Green" color.
(Pratt and Lambert)
Has the slightest 'hint' of blue in it.

Dori

A link to my BH's photobucket page that shows the new Brazilian Cherry wood floors being installed in the parlor and dining rooms.

Bottom right fireplace photo is the 'Before' (carpeted) parlor.

Top middle is the parlor 'After'. (floors installed)

Your house is lovely.

Ever since Hello Dolly the wife is all about the forest green shutters, had to ask.

Turrets?
We call them bay windows .. (for the 'bay' area floor space inside).

Upstairs (bay) window has seating.

I always thought that turrets were a type of tower?

Cussing would be correct!
Never, Ever opt for bay windows .. EVER!

I have had to d@mn near re-build them .. piece by piece over the years for various reasons!

(leaking, rotting, drafty areas etc. etc.)

Snowed in - in April!

We got at least a foot of it a few days ago and expect another round tonight  :thatsright:

Here's some pics around the area.  http://www.wdio.com/article/10969/

You live in a very pretty area, mrclose.  And your area, too, JLO!

Got about seven inches of snow overnight before it stopped at lunchtime today.  Went to an auction yesterday, while it was snowing, with about 200 other nuts.

And woke up to this this morning.

I take pictures of this stuff because my midwestern relatives love to see it and thank God they don't live here.
