I am sure I saw an article the other day making it legal to eat road kill.  The poor Easter Bunny

Some state started that it's legal to eat moosekill and deerkill. Coulda been Alaska, but I'm not sure.

One of the Virginias (I forget) passed a law a few years ago making it legal to collect and eat roadkill.

It's legal to claim roadkill deer in Illinois.  I think you have to buy the deer permit to claim it though.

Same in IN. Butchers will not process deer without a deer tag. They also issue a roadkill tag but, that usually occurs at an accident or near the time thereof when one hits a deer.
