Discussing the football players/rape thing going on in Ohio today brought up a good point and I wanted some other opinions on it. If a girl has way too much to drink and has sex she can claim rape because she was drunk and therefore legally can not consent. Why is it that if a boy is just as drunk that he still gets charged with rape even if he can't remember having sex? How is it different for a girl to be black out drunk and a guy? Both are completely stupid and irresponsible. Why is one a criminal and the other a victim? If a guy was really drunk and a girl jumped on him and he claimed rape he would be laughed out of court. Also at what point does it become rape in your mind if a girl is all over a guy touching his genitals and ripping his clothes off? If he has sex with her he is a criminal even if everyone saw her trying to get a piece.
Also how can feminists defend the double standard? If they want men and women to be treated equal then the rules shouldn't be different.

From the pictures they showed of this girl, she wasn't just "black out" drunk, but passed out drunk. They were carrying her around like a rag doll not just supporting a stumbling drunk. Part if not all of the outrage seemed to stem from the fact that it was a group of guys and they posted it to social media.
That being said, you raise a good point about double standards. I'm sure a girl could claim rape afterwards even if the guy was so drunk that he didn't remember what had happened.

Can't happen. Whiskey-Dick.

I don't know about that. Back at ages 16 to late 20's or even later, little JohnnyReb would jump to attention and salute if he even felt a fresh breeze.....with or without my consent.

I beg to differ Wineslob. That actually rarely happens in real life. Not that I would know. I agree that they should have been punished for the social media stuff. I always tell my kids that taking pictures and writing stuff down will end up in a conviction so never do it.

I know of a guy (not that I'm friends with him) who was convicted of statutory rape. As a senior in high school he passed out drunk on a couch at a party. A freshman cheerleader took a dare to... :whistling: ...and it was being filmed by her friends with cell phone cameras.
Drunk High school Senior wakes up, to a cheerleader... :whistling: ...with the girls friends watching and recording.... and than let her continue... :whistling:
At that point it was deemed him raping her due to her age, him being drunk and technically a rape victim moments before was secondary. He actually received a 2 year prison sentence, although an attorney besides a public defender may have been able to argue that it a bit better.

Until we outlaw "stupidity," shtuff like this is going to happen. Well, heck, it's gonna happen even then, but what we say might change.
