JAKARTA, Indonesia - Scuba divers swept away in strong currents survived 12 hours in shark-infested waters before scrambling onto a remote Indonesian island where they faced yet another threat: a Komodo dragon.

The divers — three from Britain and one each from France and Sweden — came face-to-face with the giant, carnivorous lizard on Rinca's palm-fringed beach, and fought it off by pelting it with rocks and pieces of wood, Pariman, a port official said Sunday.

"Luckily, they were able to chase it away," said Pariman, who, like many Indonesians, goes by only one name.

The beasts have sharp, serrated teeth and often come out when they smell something new, including humans — whom they've been known to kill, Pariman said.

shark-infested waters

See, thats where I would have stopped.

"There are lots of sharks in these waters?  Ok, so lets head back to land."

Thats also why I don't visit New York City.

I doubt they had much to fear from the Komodo dragon.

No, I am not joking.

They are not generally considered to be a menace to humans.  Although according to research they can overpower and kill small or injured humans.

I watched Steve Irwin play with the Dragons one night. They were following him around and tried to circle around behind him so they could bite him every time he stopped. Then they follow you around for up to 2 weeks until the infection kills you. He claimed they don't care what or how big it is, all they need is that one bite. They have the nastiest mouths of any creature and what lives in there kills for them.

No, you've got fire breathing confused with Dragon Breath.  She don't literally breathe fire, the smell of all the assholes Bill has licked just melts your sinuses. :lmao:
