Ben Carson thinks he can play with Conservatives but

Last edited Sun Mar 17, 2013, 11:43 AM USA/ET - Edit history (2)

I wonder what happens to his soul when he's put in the position to throw more red meat on issues like gun control, or cutting funding for CHIP, or pre-school for all.

The premier Neurosurgeon of Johns Hopkins knows better than anyone else the devastation gun violence has wracked on children. He's seen when gun shot wounds to the head does to children and their families in the trauma bay. How does Ben Carson justify loosening gun laws after spending a career treating patients for the damage they cause?

I wonder what happens to his conscience when asked if its the right think to do to rob millions of children of healthcare. He works in Baltimore, and has seen for himself the consequences of poverty, and must realize that children are affected by poverty more than anyone in this country.

As a physician, Ben Carson makes me sick. I read his biography in high school and found it to be an inspirational story to pursue medicine. Now he's nothing more than a burnt out Uncle Tom sell out who probably can't hold a scapel steady enough to operate, or has spent too much of the past 2 decades promoting himself, instead of maintaining his skills.

Ben Carson, you are a washout and a disgrace. **** YOU and the conservative garbage you so proudly associate yourself with!

Yet Dr Carson isn't posting on DU begging for more handouts from the government. He made something of himself and rose to be one of the greatest if not the greatest neurosurgeon in history. What are your accomplishments DUmmy? You can't even take care of yourself you need government to hold your hand all through life. You DUmmy are the disgrace.

1. I remember reading about him years ago as an up and coming specialist. If he runs for higher

office and doesn't agree with gun control then he really has thrown his Hippocratic oath out the window. But he also seems to embrace religion. It's fine as long as he doesn't combine religion and politics.

So abortion is allowed by the Hippocratic oath, but the means for people to defend themselves isn't.  :mental:

I hate to say it but I don't know Dr Carson's views on guns, if he is a gun grabber then he loses my support for any political office.

2. Carson Keynoted A Minority Health Coalition Event Many Years Ago

I was a board member at the time and fully supported his selection as the keynoter. I too found his story inspirational at the time. It is hard to understand how he has evolved into a right wing nut given his background as a poor kid raised by a single mother and his scientific training. I'm sure his success was helped along by many of the same programs that republicans want to dismantle now. What a disappointment.

Well let me tell you something DUmmy, just because he was born poor doesn't mean that he automatically follows the liberal philosophy, Herman Cain came from a poor family of hard working people and he grew up to be conservative. So how is it these 2 men grew up to be conservatives? The answer is very simple they worked their asses off and made something of themselves and they realized that only through hard work can one get out of poverty. They didn't smoke pot and wait for someone to hand them money. They went out and did it themselves. Unlike 0bama who had everything handed to him throughout his life and grew up thinking that is the way to make it.

He has made the statement that he doesn't understand why anyone would need an assault weapon.  Given his profession, he doesn't understand the misnomer.  To my knowledge, he has never said anything supporting increased gun control.  I may be wrong on that last part.

Like Science, it's something else you idiots cannot deal with.  It's called reality.  It's having a Mother who busts her ass to get herself and her children ahead instead of whining on internet boards.  It called pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps (you idiots hate that) and learning how the world works and what does not work.  Dr. Carson chose what works instead of wallowing in self pity.  Sound familiar?

That worries me, but I suppose it could be like I don't see a need to drive a big F 250 all around town everyday, and never use it as a truck, but I don't think that you can't do it, and it is your right to do so.

I didn't like it either, not in the least.  It is a fairly common belief with moderate urban Republican types.  They are definitely against gun grabbing, but are scared by military style weapons.  I think that is where they can falsely skew poll numbers to somehow eek out support for more gun control.

"Now he's nothing more than a burnt out Uncle Tom sell out..."
Note an official rule of liberalism in general:
If a conservative says anything even remotely critical about President Obama, according to the left, whoever said it is automatically a despicable racist spewing "Dog whistle" slurs. In contrast, if a minority comes out as an outspoken conservative, liberals are free to shower him genuinely racist slur terms like "Uncle Tom" without ever being accused of racism for it, it's considered just "Speaking truth to power" or something like that.

Has anyone encountered that in real life?  I swear if I ever did, I'd come down with both feet, and (loudly) not let them get away with this shit anymore.

Bob Beckel apologized for calling Dr. Carson a token.  We need to make this extremely socially unacceptable.

The bell-shaped DUmmy should really read the Hippocratic Oath. It says nothing about firearms, but it does prohibit abortion (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/body/hippocratic-oath-today.html).

What's the matter, DUmmie bigot?  One of your "pets" wander away and figure out that he's been lied to by you filth?  Awww, ain't it a bitch when the very people you claim to "protect" find out how hard you're holding them down?  You should fear the day the rest of them wake up to what you're shoveling.

**** you, liberal filth.  Ben Carson may, or may not, be a hard right conservative, but he sure knows bullshit when he smells it.
