We got some notable anniversaries coming up this month, and then in April and May.
This coming Wednesday, March 20, circa suppertime in the Sandhills of Nebraska, marks the one-year anniversary of when www.electstevedawes.com burst forth upon the world. (Don't bother clicking on the link; the site exists no more, having run its course.)
Big Dog apparently was the first here to spot it, while searching for porn :-) on the internet.

The pie-and-jam primitive, the grasswire primitive, was the first primitive to spot it, about midnight central time.

formerlurker was the first to bring over the primitive reactions, very early the next morning.

The site was created by friends of the big guy so as to help his campaign for the Bellevue City Council. This was for the primary in May 2012, and there were four candidates for two spots on the November ballot. The big guy had been rather dilatory about getting his message out, and so his friends got it out for him.
With friends like this, who needs more friends?
I myself had a vague notion "something" was going to happen, but knew not exactly what. Based upon this gut feeling, franksolich many times in February and during the first part of March publicly and loudly cautioned the big guy that it'd be a good idea if he hurried up and got his own web-site out.
It's not like the big guy paid any attention to his fellow Nebraskan, though.
Good job, guys!

Good times, Frank. Hats off to whomever the Friends of Steve Dawes are!
Y'all chose the peace of anonymity, and I respect that.

The big guy came up short in the election but, thanks to the friends of the big guy and www.electstevedawes.com, he can still take pride in the fact that his campaign had a refreshing transparency that is lacking in the democrat party at the national level.

I can see where a search engine would do that.

Hey, I don't search for porn- it just kinda follows me home!

His distant fourth-place finish notwithstanding, you'd think the big guy would offer thanks to the people who worked on the site. But no.
Maybe on the site's anniversary he'll break his silence.
If he shows proper gratitude, a similar site could be developed to assist in the adjudication of his disability campaign.
