Could this be another Trayvon Martin case? Only difference, it was NYPD officers who shot and killed Kimani (Kiki) Gray. I worry about rioting with the George Zimmerman verdict later this year.

Good question. If this was a minority kid, it's their normal pattern to be all over this.

Hard to say. I mean when the NYPD shoots a guy 41 times because he reached for his wallet it could be more cover up then anything.

He probably was walking around with a big gulp and his MP3 player playing too loud.

I read the article. The kid sound like a 13 year old gang member who got surrounded by cops and pulled a gun on them. Lets declare the kid innocent and riot, break into stores and steal stuff.
Not much sympathy left in my old age. Far too many fools bring their own doom upon themselves.

He was a suspected Bloods member who had a decent rap sheet for his 16 years. Also, he had what looked like a S&W heavy-barreled .357 in his hand, according to the NYPD. Fixed-sight version without an ejector shroud, so I think it may have been a Model 14 (?). The NYPD members that shot him said that the perp pointed the revolver at them, so they fired. The mother of the perp said 'that there was no way he could have been carrying a gun,' but the NYPD says otherwise. There's pics (in the New York Post) of an NYPD member holding the perp's handgun and putting it into an NYPD vehicle.
