Ah dental visits...
I know that folks fear the dentist and drill and all that. But you know the critical problem with the dentist. The insurance for it sucks...we got one of the best, and the bill was sky high still.
We need to make dental insurance part of a national single payer system.

Hey why not right? We got plenty of these to keep picking us some money to pay for it all...

I've had a cavity filled without insurance, and it cost less than $200. Pricy, but hardly outrageous :whatever: Basic exams are reasonable as well.

Let Moochelle work on it, the way the Hildebeast helped Bubba.
We can call the socialized dental plan "Wookietooth".

More unneeded words. Once again I'll fix it for nadin.

The critical problem with the dentist is that other people aren't paying my dental bill.

I brush my teeth every day and have never had any dental problems.
I know, life is rough.

There is a cheap way around all this, as I speak I am trying to track down a friend that had it done so I can get Hubby to do the same.
We spend so much money on health insurence and sometimes years will go by unused. Why not use it when you are paying for it.
Dentists HATE to pull teeth, they will talk someone in their 50-60's into root cannels and other outragiously expensive inplants, even if they are in very poor health.
So my friend got an absess so bad her face swelled up, she went to the ER and was given antiobiotics. Next she headed for a private Dentist, not to a cheap -oh- Clinic and they agreed she needed all her teeth out because of age and health risks.
The dental surgeon put her in the hospital over night to be watched and the next day removed her teeth at the hospital. Result was as she had been hospitalised Health Insurence paid for all but $100 co pay.
I believe but not sure the insurence also paid for the choppers as a prosthetic device.
Hubby has been wanting to have his teeth pulled for ages as he gets absesses also but the Clinics refuse to do so and quote him a price of over $4,000 to overhaul his mouth with no guarentee the absesses will not come back.
So we are waiting for my friend to tell us how this worked for her, the up side and the down side. We cannot talk to her for a few days as with a mouth full of cotten and a head full of pain killers I would not understand a word she said.
However, teeth are nothing to mess with, I know as absesses have gotten into my blood stream and caused all kinds of damage to my poor old body.
Then there is the ethetic looks. Some old folks are so proud they have somehow saved their teeth, but the healthy teeth look horrid, all yellowed and misshapened. There may be a movie star in their 70's that get braces but few and far between.
