The Surprising Brain Differences Between Democrats - Mother Jones

First, in the American Journal of Political Science, a team of researchers including Peter Hatemi of Penn State University and Rose McDermott of Brown University studied the relationship between our deep-seated tendencies to experience fear—tendencies that vary from person to person, partly for reasons that seem rooted in our genes—and our political beliefs. What they found is that people who have more fearful disposition also tend to be more politically conservative, and less tolerant of immigrants and people of races different from their own. As McDermott carefully emphasizes, that does not mean that every conservative has a high fear disposition. "It's not that conservative people are more fearful, it's that fearful people are more conservative," as she puts it.

You want to talk about living in fear? Take a poptart and nibble on it until it looks like a gun. A conservative will think nothing of it, a liberal will suspend the kid and offer counseling to all the kids who were scared by it.
Every damn issue that the libs talk about is nothing but fear. Fear of guns, fear of global climate change, fear of Rush Limbaugh, fear of having to pay your way in life.

Way too many variables here. And what definition of "fear" are they using? How is it being measured? Could simply be the idiots on the left don't have fear because they're too stupid to notice a threat. Kinda like thinking gun free zones are a good idea and being convinced that being in one will make you super duper safe even though there seems to be an inordinate amount of murders in those "safe" zones.

Want a study of fear, look at any liberal socialist website. You will see unreasoning fear and hate towards Christians, Jews, and anyone who dares to disagree. Fear and loathing of inanimate objects like guns, Fear of legitimate debate. Fear of a strong military, or an armed populace.
The most fearful people I know are liberal/socialists.

That was my experience.... :-) Living in the real world sort of slapped me out of it.
I wished they would run test results with these so called reports. I have a good one... Drop a DUmmie and an independent conservative into a forest somewhere and see which one survives.

It should be evident to anyone who has even a vague understanding of politics. I'd have to disagree with McDermott, conservatives, overall ARE more fearful, more gullible, more ignorant, less educated, more violent, etc. There's also the fact that they are, generally, not really "conservative"....
The brain differences between democrats and republicans are so obvious to davidthegnome that he questions the need for the study. He's probably right that there is no need for this new study--democrats have done exhaustive research in this area going back many years. What would the DUmmies suggest that could be done about these conservatives and their inferior brains? Something like this?

Well dummie. Let's look at it logically. You wake up in the morning worried about your welfare getting cut. I don't. You go all apeshit over something some conservative says on the radio or TV that you want it banned by the government. When I hear a liberal talk, I change the channel. You are so fearful of hearing a different point of view, that you go running to mommy skinner to ban the offending poster or hit the ignore button so you don't have to see it. If someone here starts spouting stuff I don't agree with and do not want to read, I just skip over their posts.
I could go on and on... but you get the idea. Now who is the fearful one?
