Oh my.
Damn, I was hoping it'd strike a little further north, up in northern New Jersey.

Snowquester forecast for mid-Atlantic region Wednesday
Gotta love these names they come up with. Good chance of a big storm mid-week; stay tuned.

Conclusion
A strong storm is expected to be located somewhere near the North Carolina coast by Wednesday morning. Some or many parts of the metro region would get a significant snowstorm that could result in power outages if the worst case scenario plays out.
This system is a very dynamic one that the models right now are aiming squarely at our area. Surface temperatures are expected to be right at the cusp between being cold enough for accumulations or being just a little too high to support accumulations in the city. This is a storm to monitor closely. It has the most potential since the Commutegeddon storm of January 26, 2011.

2. I'm hoping the storm won't come up the coastline to us on the Sound in CT...
We've been smacked by a few that have...
It doesn't look as if it's going to strike Atman's place, but that's not the deal.
The deal is, franksolich wants it to bury northern New Jersey, where the brain-damaged primitive lives, and to have a power line or tree branch fall on top of him.
It'd make a great birthday present for franksolich on Wednesday, if that storm shifted northward.

Unfortunately, Coach, it's supposed to sock southern Jersey pretty good. There's a blocking high pressure system that will keep it from going further up the coast.

Well then, second question.
Remember that sinkhole down in Florida that swallowed up that one guy?
Have sinkholes ever been known to happen in northern New Jersey?

Up to a couple years ago I only saw news of a sink hole somewhere perhaps every 18 months if that often.
We in the granite state have our own problems. Out of the blue we have had 3-4 little earth quakes. The last one caused my glasses and plates to rattle about for a 45 seconds , the big boom came first then the mild shaking.
Something is going on under ground all over the country. Natural movement to Teutonic plates or man made from drilling for oil, fracking or the NK blowing up atom bombs deep in the earth, energy waves radiate out and take the path of least resistance.
My small comunity is built on former wet land, somehow the land lord got a pass. When we first got our lot it was all wooded, I found all kinds of plants that thrive in wet areas. After we moved our home here the land lord brought in DE bull dozers and took 90% of the trees down. This was not what we bargained for but what could I do. We have had flooding from time to time, were it not for the granite I would worry about sink holes.
The poor man who in bed had the earth swallow him up, unbelievable, a nightmare of going to hell in a hand basket.

Well, I'm greatly disappointed.
Nothing's apparently going to happen in northern New Jersey any time soon, to put the brain-damaged primitive out of his misery.

Well, I don't want anything to happen to you and your husband over there in northern New Jersey, and pray nothing will, but if it did, I'm sure you could handle it.
The brain-damaged primitive, on the other hand, couldn't handle a broken fingernail.
He's oftentimes expressed his wish to quit this mortal coil; what better way for him to exit this time and place, than being swallowed by a sinkhole, and getting fame and notoriety in the newspapers?
