Doing things while under the influence

may excuse some things. It doesn't excuse others. For example, it excuses tripping and falling and making a fool of yourself. But, as another example, a drunk once bashed in the driver's side front fender on my car. When the guy said, "Hey, man. I'm really drunk. Can't we just forget about this?," I said, "Not a chance. The cops will be here soon."

Being intoxicated is a reason, not an excuse, IMO. It doesn't undo what happened. It doesn't provide a way out of a jam. That takes something else. That takes a sincere apology and some sort of compensation for the damage done.

Or so it seems to me. Posting under the influence is not an excuse, either. Sorry.

Especially when they roll out at 10 am the next morning and self-delete.

Huh, wonder who he means?

Mr. Pitt, oh Mr. Pitt, I think they're making fun of you again.

More DUm-Libs. Not to be confused with MadLibs.

Replace "under the influence" with "being a DUmmie"
Replace "drunk" with "DUmmie"
Replace "intoxicated" with "a DUmmie"

Given the recent what drugs are you on thread, the majority if them post while under the influence of narcotics or drugs.

I agree there is no excuse for their posts, and we already know then reasons.

What excuse is there for someone under the influence causes you to get a wake up call at 11pm to say your child is in the hospital due to a drunken driver. ???  What excuse can you give for the driver that forces your whole family to stand beside a closed coffin as your child is too damaged to have an open coffin  ????

At least posting UTI means you are not out there taking lives. You are home and ready to go to bed.

You know, actually I agree with the mineral oil primitive.

Posting while under the influence is never a good idea, because of the embarrassment it causes, to both the individual and the site.

On the other hand, at least in regards to the primitives, it can make for many laughs and chuckles.

It depends on what level of drunkeness you find yourself at:

First is exhibit A :cheersmate:              then comes exhibit B :drunksailor:                    followed closely by exhibit C  :puke:

If you find yourself at exhibit A, I'd say that's safe.  When it comes to the other two, you might want to think twice before posting anything.  :-)

I've never been to C... but I have been to B several times!

Oh vesta, dear, stop driving people nuts.

 O-) O-)

Not to drive people nuts Frank, life in real time will drive anyone nuts.

Bartender at a American Legion of some sort saw the Commander of this Lodge was 3 sheets to the wind.  She could not close the Lodge and drive him home and there was no taxi service in the area.    What to do ?

The Commander was very drunk and belligerent and insisted on driving home himself.  To protect him and herself she called the cops and was fired the next day.   Catch 22, had the commander killed someone both she and the Lodge would have been sued up the ying yang, the Lodge would have lost its license to sell booze.

I feel very intense about this issue, 3 family members in my life time have been killed due to drunk driving, my Uncle 15 years old, a female cousin 16 ,and an adult cousin killed in front of his wife and 2 teenage girls.

One landmark in town was a mom and pop store with a big sign on the side of the building,     " It is better to be late Mr. Moterest then The late Mr. moterest"
