'Fresh Prince' Theme Song Causes High School Lockdown
Last edited Sun Mar 3, 2013, 11:17 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
19-year-old Travis Clawson had a super shitty day on Thursday after his outgoing voicemail message was mistaken for a mass shooting threat.
Clawson was enjoying another day of high school in Ambridge, Penn., when Ambridge Area High School went into lockdown mode. Clawson probably didn't know it yet, but it was all his fault, unintentionally.
A doctor's receptionist had phoned Clawson during the school day to remind him of an upcoming appointment. Clawson's voicemail greeting, which quotes the The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, was misinterpreted by the person on the other end of the line. The receptionist reportedly misheard the line "and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school " for "shooting some people outside of the school."

Could have been worse. A kid could have a shirt with a gun picture or played with his pop tart and made it into a gun - both of which will get you suspended. Fear, it is what the government wants us to have and what, it seems, we need.

I bet none of the DUmmies will realize that stuff like this is all because of liberals.
You never hear of conservatives doing this stupid shit, but everyday some school district somewhere in the country run by liberals does something like this.

3. Obviously some words will have to be banned now.
Since some gestures are now banned.
This is the America you DUmbasses wanted.

5. Jeez, You Have A Few School Slaughters, And Everybody Gets Touchy.
(Sarcasm alert, for those who need it.)
Yeah those paper guns, fingers made into the shape of a gun, and pictures of guns slaughter thousands every year. I haven't heard of song lyrics killing yet but who knows. :whatever:

15. Zero Tolerance
Equals zero understanding and comprehension of individual instances of behavior. All cookie cutter all the time.
This is exactly what you voted for too.
I'm sure somehow in their tiny minds this is all our doing. :mental:

My son will turn 19 in the last month before he finishes his senior year. His birthay was very close to the cut off. We decided to delay his entry into K by one year (maturity delay of about 3 months). Can't start in the middle of the school year.

Doesn't that place restrictions on him, such as playing HS sports?

It shouldn't. He entered the school system per the rules that were in place. His birthday is in early May and they usually graduate at the end of the month.

I thought no one over 18 could play HS sports.
Oh well. Off to Nadin it.

It's apparent that wiki (Nadin) is a liberal enterprise.

I read the thread here at CC and I couldn't figure out what caused the lockdown. Then I went to the DUmp link and couldn't make any sense out of that. Finally I went to the vibe.com source and I think I get what happened--everyone involved with this event from the kid to the doctor's receptionist to the cops acted stupidly.
Hey Travis Clawson, what's wrong with something like this: This is Travis Clawson, I can't answer the phone right now, please leave a message at the beep.

I don't know about other states, but am very familiar with Ohio. There, you are eligible to play as long as your 19th birthday is after August 1 of your senior year.
When a kid starts the ninth grade, he has eight semesters of athletic eligibility. It's not uncommon in some districts for a few boys repeat the eighth grade, regardless of acsdemic standing, so as to get a little bigger and stronger before the eight semester clock starts. Those kids usually turn 19 at some time prior to graduation, but are fully eligible throughout their senior year.
