And the reason we are here is because some members of Congress have made a choice to prioritize these cuts over closing tax loopholes for the wealthy. But there is still time for them to make a different choice and undo this manufactured crisis.
I guess my question is:
Why didn't they prepare for this? As a family if we know of something that will cause our family to have less income, especially if we have known since August of 2011, then we would be well prepared for it when the time came. 2.2%? I can cut that out by cutting a few date-nights, Redbox Rentals, and one weekend vacation to Gatlinburg.
Just like the Government could easily cut this out of some needless programs. Funding Gay Pigeon research, or the affects of Rainbows on ants or some bullshit. The financial responsibility of this administration and the past administrations and our government in general is a freaking joke.
I can answer my own question. They always get what they want so they didn't plan for shit. They are just sitting there starring like little kids who didn't get their Ice cream money and wondering why.
Hi,
I don't know how to post a picture, cut and paste did not work.
I got one yesterday that showed congress in a joint session suggesting they know the first 535 who should get laid off. I can think of several in the executive branch to add to that list.

Republicans wanted to close loopholes to avert the fiscal cliff , but Teh Won insisted on tax hikes to punish the "rich". The GOP agreed to that as long as cuts were made later on. Obama is moving the goal posts.

Whoever is running this show (Soros ?) is really good. It doesn't matter what Republican's wanted to do, because no one is listening, and no one will as long as the media doesn't start challenging him.
Which they won't, challenge him that is. We are losing the battle, because the MSM and the Dems have demonized every aspect of us Conservatives and because we have a population who refuses to even do a little research, or feel that they have because the MSM tells them something is so.
Well, when you look back over the last 50 years or so of what's been going on in this country, nothing should be a surprise. Plenty of people saw the writing on the wall and have written about it. It was just never taken seriously I guess. Everything moves forward and I feel like enough is in place that it's moving at an accelerated pace. I don't know at this point what can stop it now. After Obama's done, there will be others like him, or worse, to take his place, because they have been/are so successful.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency"

That's how I feel, I felt like we were on a tinkering point this past election. Like right on the fence, and we have just tinkered over.
I know what you mean. But even if Romney had won, they would have just come on stronger in the 2016 election, and the media would be there demonizing Romney every step he took. We need a candidate who "gets it" and has the ability to get people to wake up to what's been happening to this country, but we have such a huge handicap that I don't know if it's possible.
I had some hope when the Tea Party formed, but they have been so demonized that they seem to have been sidelined. You how it works, and this was also part of Clinton's strategy, Identify it, Isolate it, Personalize it and Polarize it". Alinsky's rule #13.
I don't know how much hope there is. When you have a majority of the population who are so uneducated on anything about government, politics, taxes plus the liberal MSM feeding their spin and demonetization of anything conservative.
When the President can stand there and say "We are going to take from the wealthier Americans more and more because they can do without." We are screwed. They used to at least beat around the bush when referring to raising taxes. But this is the fist Presidency that I am aware of that just blatantly says we are going to take from the rich and give to the poor because the rich can afford it.
In essence buying votes.
Yes...
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.
For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in it's weakened condition the state succums to an invader - the barbarians enter Rome." ~ Robert Heinlein
Lay'em off!
The problem we have is that the invaders are now part of the Government.
This reminds me of the "The Fatal Sequence of Nations"

Guess where we are :(
