1. Lox Chowder................

a recipe I found in the NY Times on Sunday. Along with it we'll have sourdough bread, the invited guests are bringing a white wine and desert.

2. good question

Now that the boys are out of the house so much, and Gram is gone, Dad and I can't seem to work up the energy for a full meal. I think I need to dig out the one-dish cookbook.

3. I have a top round beef roast

I'm going to do in the crock pot. With all of the usual suspects in the pool with it.

I don't know if I should set it for 6 or 8 hrs. I just read that the meat can seem dry if cooked too long.

Anyone?

4. Something with pork chops and kale. Need to do some research on how to put these two things together.

Anyone with suggestions? I would greatly appreciate it.

7. When I lived in SC many years ago, it was breaded pork chops, rice and cooked kale on the side

12. It was delicious and we ate every bite.

I made a horseradish/sour cream mixture and put a dollop of that in. Very, very y***y!

8. Yellow split pea dahl, basmati rice, mango chutney (from a jar) and banana raita

<<<will have to nadin "chutney" after a while.

<<<familiar with the word, but has no idea what it is.

<<<probably have seen it, but didn't hear what the name of it is.

<<<needs something for "plot development" for "the cbayer primitive meets franksolich".

10. Chunky BBQ ham soup w/ garlic bread or BBQ ham & potato salad w/ garlic bread.

I've got the ham soup made and more cooked ham in the fridge, so it'll be one or the other. We're going to see temps in the mid seventies today. Salads may be the way to go.

Home made pizza tonight.

Okay, I nadined "chutney;" yeah, I've seen it before, but didn't know what it was.

The first time I saw it, I thought it was vomit.

<<<now, to get the mind inspired, and to incorporate "chutney" into "the cbayer primitive meets franksolich".

<<<<<it's Friday during Lent so no meat, just plain pizza.

Today is fast free in the Orthodox Church, so I'm doing pulled pork sandwiches tonight, and the left overs (i.e., most of it) will be taken to a brunch at my cousin's tomorrow.  Lent starts really late this year because our Easter is super late (May 5th).
