Progressives Liberals Progressives are good at changing the language in order to try to fool people.
In case anyone was wondering why I struck out progressive and liberal it was to illustrate what they have done in the past. Every time they get a bad name for their loony ideas they change what they call themselves. From what I understand they started off as progressives then switched to libs then back to progressives because of the connotations.
Anyway here's the regularly scheduled thread.

I am sure this has been posted - I know this issue has been talked about here - but there are a couple in here of new import to me. I especially like "undocumented resident" instead of "illegal,"alien", et al.,

They think that they can influence voters by coming up with new terms for the same old tired bullshit they have been selling since the first progressive decided the Constitution sucks.
Here is what the list says for pro life.
(7). Pro-Life: Ugh. They are NOT pro-life. Once a child takes its first breath, these supposed conservative “pro-lifers†couldn't care less about the quality of life for the child or mother. Let’s call them by their true name for once. Instead, try: Anti-Choice. Because, that’s what they really are about. They don’t care about “life.†They only seek to deny choices to women. Not just the choice of whether or not to have a child, but whether a woman can — like a man — embrace her full sexuality without having to worry about pregnancy, and whether she can make related choices about her body, her career, and when to have children, as men always have.
I have taken a page from the progressive rule book and have decided I will not call these disgusting excuses for human beings "pro choice" they are pro abortion. The same people who scream about choice want to take every other choice away from us, from what size sodas we can have to how many rounds we can have in our scary looking assault rifles, or riffles as some on DU call them.

1. Once and for all-
Can we stop saying pro-life?! It's a personal pet peeve- one of their most successful word spins and it makes me crazy. We are all pro-life- otherwise we would be pro-death. Every time I hear someone say it I correct them- (anti-choice). A great example of how brilliant they are with messaging.
You are pro death and not just in the womb either, progressive policies always lead to death.

3. I really think forced-birthing is a much more accurate description
When you are against sex education, birth control, and abortion, you are for state sanctioned forced birthing.
I'm only against abortion, if you want birth control buy your own damn pills, and sex education should be taught by the parents.

Indeed, since almost all "pro-lifers" are in favor of capitel punishment.
My favorite put down, and I can't recall now who said it, is "Let's just say that life begins at erection and be done with it."
If that is the case, the sex education that is so sacred to you libs let you down. It takes more than simply an erection to make a baby.

...my favorite by far. After all, who is controlling our culture? Washington or Wall Street/Madison Avenue?
How many un elected people in the 0bama administration are making our lives a living hell? Should we start calling all the czars big business? :-)

Name me any three Republican congress-shits that seriously want to make grandma eat Alpo, and have her do without her heart medications (like she would have to under ObamaCoup, but I digress). The point isn't the accuracy of the charge: the point is that the Communists in Democrat's clothing have been trotting out this same old, tired propaganda for decades; it's never been true, it's been proven bullshit God alone knows how many times, and yet every time the Marxists crank out the same old tired lines again, these idiots lap it up like it was the 5th *******ed gospel.

They used to call them simply "benefits" in the late 80s/early 90s and then changed it to "entitlements" because it infantalizes the talking class to come to believe they somehow deserve a share of other people's labor. And it is easier to get the taking class to riot when a responsible statesman comes along every generation or two.

I loathe this Newspeak. I especially hate it when they use it in naming bills the opposite of what is meant. "Employee Free Choice Act" to force unionization. "Patient Care and Affordability Act" where there will be rationed care, not at all affordable. This practice is deeply insulting to the public, and I resent it.

A more fitting thread title would be "Deceptive euphemisms that we can use to try and con/ guilt trip the American people into buying into our idiotic, often despotic policy ideas."

They hold no official positions of political power. Thus, they are not government, thus the term doesn't work.

Never mind the fact that most of their recipients have done absolutely nothing to "Earn" the benefits they're reaping. Liberals in general are greatly opposed to the idea of people having to work to earn things.

Never mind that most big- government spending is an investment that does nothing to benefit America, merely benefiting the special- interest groups and businesses that are the immediate recipients of the money.

The anti- gun liberals want to control everything relating to gun ownership; Who can own a gun, what kind of gun they can own, how many guns they can own and how much ammo they can possess. NRA members are the ones actually interested in gun safety, through teaching safe and responsible gun ownership to their members.

I don't call them either of those things: I call them Illegal Immigrants, because they are immigrants who came here illegally. Pretty straightforward.

They are pro- life, because they believe that human life is sacred, and not something that should simply and brutally be terminated by a Planned Parenthood ghoul simply for the sake of the mother's convenience. Personally, in the interests of fairness and civility, I call each side what they want to be called: Pro- Life and Pro- Choice. Though, as others have noted, ultra- liberals like the DUmmies want the American people to have as little choice as possible in every aspect of their lives (How much ammunition they can have, how big of a soft drink they can order, who they can listen to on talk radio, etc.). btw, if we wanted to use a negative term for the opposition instead of "Pro- Choice" the way the DUmmies and others use the negative term "Anti- Choice" to deride those who value life, the term I'd use would be "Pro- Abortion," since that is the only reproductive choice they will support.

What's wrong with calling it the Environment? "Shared Resources" is way too vague, and could apply to a lot of things which have nothing to do with the environment.

For most welfare recipients, it's not a "Safety Net"; It's a way for people who refuse to work for a living to get booze, Smart Phones, and flat- screen TVs on the taxpayer's dime. Liberals love using the term "Social" in their euphemisms.

My GI Bill and the like are contractual obligations. Your Obamaphone is not.

I have no problem teaching the NRA's gun safety courses in schools. Eddie Eagle is a great program.

Strange how words morph and come into being. Being Cool was at one time called Hot.
Up here anything that is really good is called wicked.
I was amazed to find so many Indonesians with the same last name from different islands, FNU---pronounced as Far-New. Finally it came to me that this was like the slang word for Italians was WOP.
On their papers as they had no last name the Fnu stood for Family Name Unknown. Like WOP stood for With Out Papers to those Italians that just came here in the 1900's.
Odd thing on medical records for children some times FLK will show up, stands for , Funny looking kid.
English incorporates words from other languages, the French are so jealous of their language they get outraged when a word from another language can not be translated into French so the word is used from another language.
I have no problem with calling illegals as Wops regardless of where they come from.
Pro abortionists as KOHL's killers of human Life , pronounced as Koal's.
