Title: Obama shine continues to wear off
Post by: RightCoast on June 07, 2008, 03:24:53 AM
Quote
Barack Obama’s campaign is taking heat from news media after herding political reporters onto the Illinois senator’s charter plane to take off Thursday night without the candidate — while he met secretly with Hillary Clinton in Washington, D.C.

The Washington bureau chiefs from FOX News, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News and CNN, along with the acting bureau chief from The Associated Press, penned a joint letter of protest Friday to Obama’s campaign manager and chief spokesman.

Brian Wilson, FOX News’ Washington bureau chief, described the missive as “strongly worded” and said it addresses the actions of the Obama campaign as “troubling.”

The letter was not made public, but Wilson said it complains that campaign officials declined to reveal Obama’s whereabouts despite objections from the press corps as they were about to take off for Chicago.

The letter details three instances in which the bureau chiefs felt their reporters were misled by the campaign. The letter also suggests that the news organizations — which pay thousands for their reporters to fly on the private jets of candidates — will review whether to decline to reimburse the Obama campaign for the Thursday flight.

And in an unrelated story, the Barackstar! wiped his ass with the letter of protest, and was later heard to say, "I'm just practicing for what I'll do with the Constitution between now and my second term in 2016."

Don't get me wrong here, but just who in the hell do these guys think they are?  Replace "hussien" with "McCain" and reread the story.

The networks think they have some sort of moral RIGHT to know the whereabouts of every candidate all the time?  I know of no such rule, much less law, that says so.

The arrogance and ego of the increasingly irrelevant MSM is breathtaking.

AHA!!!!  But don't you see, if McCain (or even now Bush) did it, the MSM would be screaming from the rafters and the lead for days, with Olbertard, Matthews, etc, milking it for all the mileage they can get.  As it is, this story will barely see the light of day.

I kinda like pissing off those in the liberal media. They do not have right to know everything that goes on.

I'll agree with that - the MSM will get a little lesson in unrequited love - they "care" a lot more about Barack Hussein Obama than he ever will for them. From all I've read, Dr. Frankenstein really regretting making that monster by the end of the novel.

McCain would never do this to the media, he's spent too much time grooming a positive relationship with them. The major beef the news media has is the moving of Obama's press corp to Chicago (which is paid for by the new organizations) while Obama stayed elsewhere. That was very low class.

the MSM elites, and that is who got "hijacked", are used to being treated a certain way.  and the uncomfortable truth is that
you play by their rules, especially while you are a candidate, because you don't need them to go sour on you.

Obama is a rank amateur; this turkey is going to make so many flubb-ups the media and his lefty advisors will be on a mission to correct them and apologize on a daily basis.
