Those ads were considered not offensive back than as they often before 1970s. It was also a different time. There are no ads from 1980s I could not see.

The only one of those that offended me was the "Baby Soft" one.

You obviously never saw "Pretty Baby" back in the day.

The lysol one freaked me out a bit. Seems wrong to use that product in the location the ad told people to.

Drummond Sweaters: "Indoors, women are useful- even pleasant. On a mountain, they are something of a drag."

It wasn't until this moment that Gitte realized her marriage to Fritz had been a lie.

That one left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm just catching up to these today.  I have to say right off the bat that the Jello one is pretty bad.  Especially the copy.  Holy crap!  But, these are hilarious.. "the harder a wife works, the cuter she looks."  I must be gorgeous.

I was not offended by the Plymouth one, or the Camels one.

Nor the Schlitz.  That was pretty funny.  They're just going to drink dinner.

"For a better start in life, start cola earlier."     Shameless, shameles marketing.

Chase & Sanborn, really, really bad.  Awful.

The Van Heusen ties one, with the wife knelt beside the bad:  Horrible, and the ties are shockingly ugly, too.

Lysol!!!   :o

Offensive to whom?

Whatever was was. Cannot change history (unless you're a lib.)

I can't stand in judgement.  That was the culture and I must respect all cultures.  Right?
