Ah my personal focus group... this is a group of retired folks
and today it was funny. One started going over how dems hate the country and the sequester will put national security at risk... the latter, he is correct.
So, I usually just listen, but today could not byte my tongue any longer. I turned and I asked of the gets if he remembered Civics 101?
Of course. He is a proud, well, I will save you the rest.
Who is responsible for the control of the purse per the Constitution?
Well, the House.
Good, who is in charge of the House?
He started to go into why POTUS should show leadership.
Ok, he should, but we have separation of powers, we have established the House controls the purse, who called for In District work this week? That is technically how it is called in the House's calendar? It was not the President. It was the House Leadership... who controls the House?
He just sat there, the rest of the group had these broad smiles in their faces.
As they left, one of the others said that he had never thought into going into the nitty gritty of how things work, but that was a thing to behold... I felt like this is stupid, that we need to explain things in such simple terms. Oh and this is not something I enjoy doing any longer. We are so divided in this country, it is not even funny. But we all need to remember how in theory things work, if we are to demand they do, and I mean all the political elite not just one party, in DC.
We have a very dysfunctional government, but it is time to demand it starts working once again.

That must be one helluva ego-booster!
And "byte my tongue", is that some kind of techo-geek computer lingo that we mere mortals are not expected to understand?

3. It is archaic, but the language in the constitution is archaic.
Essentially, who controls the budget.
BREAKING NEWS (Fictional Spirit-Guide News Network)
FlippyDoo reporting.
A pretend reporter in San Diego pretended to attend a pretend focus group and pretended to verbally rough up a pretend old man.
---
In other news, a pretend reporter in San Diego ceased her efforts to computerize her tongue. Rejection is a possible cause for the cessation of her attempt. In her own words, "…could not byte my tongue any longer."
---
In other news, a pretend reporter in San Diego used sexist language at a pretend focus group. Said reporter accused the fictional members of the group of have 'broad' smiles in their faces.
The use of the term 'broad' instead of the more acceptable terms of 'woman' or 'female' should not be taken lightly. Especially as it was used by a pretend member of the press.
It is unknown at this time why the pretend reporter in question would accuse everyone in the pretend group, including the males that were fictionalized to be present, of having female smiles IN their faces.
---
In other news, a pretend reporter in San Diego pissed off liberals throughout the United States by using 'demand' and 'starts working once again' in the same sentence. The liberals may have not read the entire sentence and thought the pretend reporter was demanding that people start working.
Yeah.
The House proposes the budget, but the Senate has to approve it.
The Senate hasn't approved a budget since the evil George Bush was in the White House.
One wonders what's up with that.
And Harry Reid has put every budget submitted since 2011 in the shredder.
The Senate is to blame from 2011 through now, the house and the senate both in 2010 did nothing on a budget and the dims had the house then.
