URGENT -- Authorities say a shooting spree through Orange County, Calif., on Tuesday has left four people dead, including the shooter, and several others injured.
The shootings began at 4:45 a.m. when deputies responding to a call found a female shot multiple times in a house in Ladera Ranch, said Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.
The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, fled the scene in an SUV, according to the LA Times.
Three more people were fatally shot in the next 25 minutes after carjackings in Tustin and Santa Ana.
"There are multiple (crime) scenes throughout Tustin and the surrounding areas," said Tustin Police Lt. Paul Garaven.
Police say there were a total of six shooting scenes across the county.
Amormino could not immediately confirm that the subsequent shootings were related to carjackings.
The suspect shot himself at an intersection in Tustin, the sheriff's spokesman said.
The motive for the shootings is still unclear and it's also unclear if the victims knew each other or the shooter.

....In Ladera Ranch, a woman was shot several times and died before 4:45 a.m., said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Property records show the home is owned by Irfan and Sarwat Syed, who bought it in 2008.
The gunman is believed to have then headed north in an SUV, where three carjackings were reported in Santa Ana and Tustin. The gunman was reported to have fired several times, killing two people.
Officers caught up with the man believed to be the gunman and stopped his vehicle near Wanda Road and Katella Avenue. The man, described only as in his 20s, apparently killed himself after officers stopped his vehicle, said Lt. Paul Garaven of the Tustin Police Department.
The relationship between the woman shot in Ladera Ranch and gunman was not clear, Amormino said. At least one other person was inside the home on Red Leaf Lane, a street lined with live-work units.
Deputies were called to the home, but the man suspected of being the gunman fled in an SUV, Amormino said.
A neighbor said he heard what sounded like gunshots before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, followed by a lot of noise at about 4 a.m.
“I was in the garage and the door was cracked,†said Jason Glass. “When I opened my garage door this morning, my whole house was covered in tape. What a way to wake up.â€
Tustin police then received reports of a carjacking at Red Hill Avenue and Nisson Road, where a bystander was shot, Garaven said. That person was wounded.
A second carjacking was then reported along Village Way and the 55 freeway, where the same man is believed to have shot and killed a driver before taking the vehicle.
Another driver in that area also drove in reverse on the southbound lanes of the 55 at about 5:20 a.m., trying to avoid a gunman, a witness said.
Damita Cunningham said the driver in front of her backed into her car and she chased after him trying to get the license number.
“We got off Edinger and he said, ‘You don’t know what happened,' †Cunningham said.
The driver told her he backed into her car because a man was pointing a gun at him.
“He panicked and backed into my car so he could get away,†she said.
Police continued to search for the gunman in the area until they received reports of a man with a gun near Edinger and Newport avenues. Two people were shot there before the man took yet another vehicle, Garaven said. One of the victims was taken to a hospital. The other victim died.
Officers were dispatched to multiple shooting scenes, but authorities found the man believed to be the gunman driving on the 55 freeway, Garaven said.
The vehicle was stopped by officers near Wanda and Katella.
“The suspect shot and killed himself,†Garaven said, before officers were able to contact him.
Residents stood outside the crime scene tape, where the body of the gunman was visible under a yellow tarp.
"I've never seen anything like this in this neighborhood," said Leo Kueny, a 44-year-old resident. "It's a very strange day."

Doesn't California have very strict gun laws? How did all of this happen?
:whatever:

Good. No trial, and no rich, slimebag ambulance-chasing lawyer.

The 2 street executions he did were blocks from my office in Santa Ana ( intersection of the 5 and 55). He was car jacking them but had absolutely no reason to kill them. Both victims (http://www.ocregister.com/news/lewis-496518-edwards-police.html) were just working people on their way to work when this piece of trash crossed their paths. Hope he is enjoying his eternity in hell.

Ah, yes--the Orange Crush. It amazes me that in supposedly "safe" Orange County (compared to LA) how far that area is sliding into the cesspool.

I will be curious to know if he was another wacky kid. He was only 20, still living at home.

And apparently Amish. ::)

Yeah, well, Saddleback College ain't exactly Harvard. Most of the kids I knew went there only to make mommy and daddy happy until even they realized they were pretty much never, 1--transferring to UCLA or UC Irvine, 2--going to be the next CEO of pretty much anything, at which point they usually take their 7-year AA degree and go to work as an assistant manager at Del Taco.

So have they given any more details on this kid?
Seems the media has gone curiously silent on him.

I thought coverage was light yesterday when I tried to read up on what happened. Looking today, there are few updates.
Did find that his mom was arrested for a hit and run she was involved in that happened last June.

somewhat of a loner kid who lived with his parents. Neighbors said his brothers and sisters were fairly visible but this kid was rarely seen and kept to himself. 20 year old loser with no job living with his parents and taking one computer repair class at the local community college. The parents seemed to have lost touch with the kid in the months leading up to the shootings.
I heard the 911 tape of his mother reporting the shooting at their house. She was hysterical so the father took over the phone and made a comment like "I don't know what he's (the son) up to anymore" when the 911 operator asked him about his son.
