Full Title: Washington State Proposed Gun Law Calls on Sheriff to Inspect Homes of Assault-Weapon Owners

Quote
A new gun law calls on sheriffs to search the home of assault weapon owners.

A proposed Washington State gun law will call on the county sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners.
Seattle Times reported, via Free Republic:

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners. The bill’s backers say that was a mistake.

Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?

As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.

It noted as a mistake in the article, but how does that language get included in this legislation accidentally?

The funny thing is the sheriff can come to your home and you could point to your neighbor's house and advise they have unregistered weapons, go inspect them.  The sheriff would advise they can't without a search warrant.

Undocumented workers have more rights than law-abiding Americans, and soon their undocumented guns will also.

Sissy ass liberals, always wanting someone else to do their dirty work.  I have a better idea - why not send the assclowns that vote for this turd to enforce it?  No sense in putting deputies at risk, let the shitbags who want it try and make it happen.

I'd hate too see this happen just like anyone else here. Washington is a nice place to go to . I have been there several times. I don't know if it's like Alaska but it is a good place to fish and hunt. The loss in revenue if they do this should serve as a warning to the taxpayers on who is going to pay for it in the long run when the State piggy bank starts running low.

I was thinking to myself there is no way the DUmmies could support this.  They hate for the police to be able to just come into your house.

Example:

Would they like it if pot plant growth was legalized, but only a certain kind and amount, with the condition they would be inspected by the Sheriff to insure they were following the law.

So I went to the DU to see if anything was posted pertaining to the Washington State Proposed Gun Law.

Well there was:

Antigunners want home searches of gun owners [View all]

Make no mistake. The antigunners are working to ban all firearms and to treat gun owners as second class citizens. They cannot be trusted. So called "common sense" and "moderate" regulation is nothing but a step towards the ultimate disarmenent of the citizenry. Once in a while the antigunners slip up and show their hand/ultimate goal prematurely instead of passing minor restrictions now and waiting until later for more draconian measures. To all you antigunners **** YOU.

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners.

They always say, well never go house to house to take your guns away. But then you see this, and you have to wonder.

Responding to the Newtown school massacre, the bill would ban the sale of semi-automatic weapons that use detachable ammunition magazines. Clips that contain more than 10 rounds would be illegal. But then, with respect to the thousands of weapons like that already owned by Washington residents, the bill says this:

In order to continue to possess an assault weapon that was legally possessed on the effective date of this section, the person possessing shall ... safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection.

In other words, come into homes without a warrant to poke around. Failure to comply could get you up to a year in jail.

2. Hopefully it comes to that. There is no such thing as a a responsible gun owner.

If you do not comply with any and all gun regulations that exist now or are passed in the future then you should spend some time in jail.

"To all you antigunners **** YOU. "???

Seriously?

Grow up become a responsible citizen, put away your little toys.

YOU and those like you are the reason that NO ONE should be trusted with a gun.

3. I would like to see this become law in all 50 states

We need to start getting these guns out of the hands of killers and potential killers.

So as we have seen the hypocrisy of DU displayed on a daily basis here it is again.  Unlawful search and seizure is ok as long as it's the people we don't like.

We were told over and over again that we were crazy for thinking that 0bama wanted to take away our guns. Now that the gun grabbers are out in full force do we get an apology?

Yes I know this is Washington state doing this, not Lord Zero, but he and his VP have started the ball rolling on this and now moonbats in the individual states are doing their best to find ways to grab guns without directly grabbing them.  :banghead:

They talked about this on F&F this morning.  Apparently they're backpedalling furiously.  Some dude who was for the proposal (just because his party wanted him to be), had not read the 8-pager to see what's in it.

You have to pass it to see what's in it.

What happend to the old time laws. I had an uncle that was a collector of guns, he came across a Tommy Gun and had to buy for big bucks a licence to keep it in Maine.    Federal license for the weapon. This Uncle had some odd weapons bought here and there, not for sale but had to have a license for.

This was years ago, perhaps 30-40.  Today anyone can own anything he had to pay for  or register and keep with no problem.   No federal license or registering weapon with the town.  My poor uncle will be turning in his grave  were he to know what just anyone can buy without paying all the money to government licenses  he did for his arms.

Maine is odd, when one buys a weapon from a dealer and they are from out of state, the weapon has to be brought to the state line in NH for the sale.    You can see the small shacks on the State line that one has to go to for to pick up a weapon bought in Maine.  Odd how this works, lots of other stuff becides weapons are sold over state lines.

Used autos advertised  in Maine , you want to buy one but it is moved across state lines for the sale. Buy in Maine there is a lemon law, buy in NH. no such thing.-----Yes my daughter got taken by that scam. She bought a car in Maine but being young got scammed when she found she had to pick up the car and sign the sales deal in NH and the car was a mess. Youth, she never asked us what we thought she just went for what was a good deal and found a lesson in Scams,   Poor kid.    I know a few adults that got caught in this scam also.

People buy cars and make sure the vin number shows the car is not stolen.   How many people check the ID numbers to track the weapons they buy ???  Is there any goverment program that has a hot wire to check on the Identification no. of where the weapon was sold to , how many times it changed hands ??

Responcible gun owners need to know where the weapon was used before and who by.
 Went off topic , sorry.

That was probably the mid 1960's....you had to buy a $250 federal tax stamp every time a gun like that changed hands.

Last week I watched a news show that had a college Prof. on who knew Obama when they were teaching in Chicago.  He said Obama told him that he didn't think we should be allowed to own guns.

Doubt if he's changed his mind.
