Just got word a friend was killed in Afghanistan.

She was a Guard member. Shot point blank. She didnt deserve it.

Ok, I don't normally question stuff like this BUT since my son is in Afghanistan I really keep an eye on deaths over there.  I have a website I have had bookmarked since he deployed;

http://www.icasualties.org/OEF/Fatalities.aspx

This website has stayed on top of the troop fatalities big time.  I usually see deaths on this site before I hear about them in the news even if they don't give a name until after the family has been notified.

Unless this site has failed for some reason there have been ZERO deaths in Afghanistan since the 23rd of January and that was a Polish troop.

I've ran a couple of searches and I find nothing on deaths in Afghanistan since that date.  Anyone else have a lead on troop deaths?

Is this a new DUmmie just trying to get some street cred?

Not a single DUmpmonkey bothered to check the credibility of the story.

There's only been one death that I've seen since the first of the year.

And that casualty was not female.

Which means IF this DUmmy's story is true...he/she/it has violated the military notification policy and is putting this out before the family has been contacted.

TX that website I go to has 3 US deaths since the 1st of the year.  A total of 8 counting the other countries.

No you're good.  I found the other two...they were in the archive part of the news releases.

Neither were female.

So again I say that this idiot has violated the notification regulations...or he's lying.

So the others deserved to die then or is the Dummie not only lying but trying to put out the usual hate the troops BS? I had someone I know die in Afghanistan too and all I said about it at the time was he was dead online almost a year later.

He is the only death so far from my old company which is over there right now.

My son is there too but I don't even want to follow the death count. All I know is that the last couple of times we've talked on Skype the reception has been just awful. Of course he moved to another area, too.

Cindie, I got on that site after the first 'black out' we experienced. There were some Americans killed and we could get no information. Thankfully my son should be back on American soil in about a month. It's been a tough deployment for all of us.

He's seen some bad stuff and I'm going to be glad to get him back in Texas in April for 3 weeks.

God bless you and your son, I know it's tough!

Thank God that he is coming home soon. My nephew did a 1 year deployment in Afghanistan and came back in 2011.  It is horrible for them to be over there with a Commander-in-Chief that loathes their very existance.

I'm sure with all the talk about females in combat, if there was a female casualty it would have made front page news.

Since it was Maobama's admin who gave the okay for women in combat, they'll hide it or as long as possible.

Now, if this was a Republican admin, it would be on every channel, and everyone calling for the (R) President's neck for allowing them to fight.

I came across this post and many here felt it was a lie. My friend was killed in Afghanistan, she was a 2nd lt in the ANG. When she was killed she was in Afghanistan, this time, working as an intelligence contractor.

Here is a story regarding her death.
http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/local/fairborn-contractor-died-from-gunshot-wound-invest/nWSrY/

The investigation behind the shooting is still ongoing. It appears, at this time, that is was not from a hostile. She received a gunshot wound to the back of her head that severed her spinal column. She was flown to a hospital in Germany where she was declared brain dead. She was kept on the respirator long enough for her fathe to get to Germany and watch see her before she died.  At the time her injury was not made known to the public and s the details were not out with the press. But her  family was made aware through phone calls, and then some of her friends were called by her brother.. That is why it was not listed on the news at the time of my post on DU. And as she was not serving in a Guard capacity when she was killed it was not on the DoD registry. Still, she was an USAF ANG officer and a contractor trying to make Afghanistan a better place. She worked very hard to make something with her life.

Her brother's fraternity, of which he is the President, is collecting money to help her family with the unexpected travel expenses incurred, as well as help with the funeral arrangements.

http://www.wsudelts.org/

They have already raised about $6,000 for her family. They are working with media and non-profits on this so be assured that all funds will go towards the family. If you would like to donate I would consider it a personal favor.

Thank you,
