Title: DU hearts cause flashback to high school days
Post by: chitownchica on February 11, 2013, 09:08:52 PM
It's time once again for Skinner's yearly celebration of capitalism though the DU hearts fund drive.  Most of the DUmmies are having a great time giving hearts to  those they admire, but as is customary at the DUmp, someone shows up to drop a turd in the punchbowl.  Giving hearts is unfair because they are not distributed evenly, and are a reminder that some people are winners, while others are losers.

I hate these hearts. It makes me feel like we are in high school and the cool people are walking around with a bunch of stars and the not cool one, like me, have a pitiful one star that she got when in a discussion about whether or not you were given a star just for donating, (which you are not, which I pointed out because I had no stars at that point and someone gave me a heart)

So I go around and it seems like people are on American IDOL or something and me with my little star feels like I don't want to start threads now or post so much because I'm feeling a little......un-liked.

And don't anyone give me a damned heart because I wrote this. I am not looking for stars but for discussion.

There's pathetic, and then there's P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C.

She, I'm assuming this DUmmy has a vagina, has 8 hearts now.
I guess pissing and whining gets you hearts at DUmmyland.  :-)

Poor stupid DUmmy Marayanumbers thinks other people gave Pitt and the CalPig and nutcase nadin all those stars.

You just send Skimmer twenty bucks, and line up twenty stars after your name.

Which reminds me. When Skimmer started the new DU, allowing the lunatics to run the asylum, the idea was there would no longer be any hearts or any other fundraisers. But, whoa, DUmmies were much slower in signing up for the forty-two buck memberships than Skimmer expected.

So he dropped the price to anything more than zero - meanwhile keeping the money sent in by the first wave of DUmpmonkey suckers.

His next move was to have his sockpuppet beg him to reinstate the heart scam. With great "reluctance", he agreed to take yet more money from the DUmmies, but with one condition.

He said every penny of heart money would be donated, on Valentine's Day no less, to the infant butchers at Planned Parenthood.

So Valentine's Day came and went. How much money did Skimmer collect? How much "overhead" did Skimmer deduct? When was it donated to the butchers? How much was donated? How many infants were slaughtered, courtesy of DUmp donors?

DUmmies were scammed once again in Skimmer's heart hustle, and never realized it.

"AT SEVENTEEN"

By Janis Ian

I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth...

And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say "come dance with me"
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems at seventeen...

A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said: "Pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve"
The rich relationed hometown queen
Marries into what she needs
With a guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly...

So remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
In debitures of quality and dubious integrity
Their small-town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received at seventeen...

To those of us who knew the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
the world was younger than today
when dreams were all they gave for free
to ugly duckling girls like me...

We all play the game, and when we dare
We cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say: "Come on, dance with me"
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me, at seventeen...

I had forgotten that this was for abortion.  Ugh. So disgusting.

I have no doubt that a lot of those people with numerous hearts gave to themselves. DUmmies are cheap. There's no way they are going to spend their monthly government allowance on anyone but themselves.   :rotf:

Also, someone started a virtual heart thread because they are too  cheap to  buy.  That cracked me up.

Do the elusive, enigmatic Elad and the halfwitted Lord Marblehead get a share of Skimmer's heart money?

I think Elad's greatest reward is designing new and more intricate Chinese finger traps for the primitives.

As for Lord Marblehead, who knows what he even does? He's probably Nad's handler.

More likely. ;-)

My mother hated that "Seventeen" song.  She said it was a whiny pity party and would snap it off if it came on the car radio.  Stand up straight and put a smile on your face, and even an ugly duckling improves.
