Obama has handed out pay raises to federal employees in the past while telling others they need to tighten their belts. The sheer audacity of seeing the union ask for even more reflects why this nation is going downhill.

Good. Feel free to seek a larger payraise in the private sector, assclown.

Really, no government employee at any level should get a raise unless those paying their salary vote to approve said pay increase. Government employees that strike should automatically be fired because they're holding the people they supposedly serve hostage with no voice in any negotiation but 100% on the hook for whatever increase their tantrum garners. They want a raise, let them put it on the ballot and advocate for it.

David Cox, Sr. welcome to MY world!!!
I'm a Federal employee and I'm getting that 1% raise just like you.
Except I don't have a Union rep and I don't get to run to a newspaper and bitch about it.

Government employees cannot strike.
Also the Navy government employees, as well as most DoD employees are about to take 1day without pay for 22 weeks.
