'We've had plenty of spending cuts,' says Nancy Pelosi
As lawmakers continue looking for ways to reduce the federal deficit, House Democratic leaders remain committed to a program that includes tax increases and some spending cuts.
That was the message from Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who said Sunday that cuts, if they come, must be from subsidies to oil companies rather than from Medicaid, Social Security or Pell grants.
"What we do need is more revenue, and more cuts, but I would like to see that a big, balanced, bold proposal," Pelosi said on "Fox News Sunday." She reiterated her stance that Republicans are promoting a "false argument" by saying America has a spending problem.
(snip)
Pelosi said Sunday she was opposed to raising the eligibility age for Medicare, currently at 65, arguing instead for slowing the rise of medical costs.

And the low information voters will eat this up.
Never mind that we haven't cut a dime from spending ever, even when we have had cuts it was nothing but accounting tricks and moving money from one thing to another.
These fools on the left will not be happy until the middle and upper classes are paying 90% of their wages into the treasury. Meanwhile assholes like her and Reid will still be able to avoid all the taxes they put on the rest of us.

Name one.

Name one.
They did take $500 billion from Medicare...
-
Name one.
Most of them are the typical leftist definition of 'cut' - e.g. "If I expect to spend $100 more dollars next week, and I only spent $60 more dollars, I actually had a spending cut of $40 ! Yay !!11!"

San Fran Nan won't be happy until the Defense Budget is cut by 99%, the rich are taxed 99%, except of course for her and her cohorts, and everyone has to rely on the govt. for handouts. :thatsright:

Pelosi: 'Tax Cuts Are Spending' :panic:
And so when we talk about reducing spending, we certainly must and we certainly have. $1.6 trillion dollars in the previous Congress, $1.2 of it in the Budget Control Act. But spending is also related to tax cuts – tax cuts are spending – tax expenditures, they are called. Subsidies for big oil, subsidies to send jobs overseas, breaks to send jobs overseas, breaks for corporate jets – they are called tax expenditures, spending money on tax breaks, and that’s the spending that we must curtail as well and if we do we can come closer to the one on one tax cuts, revenue, and cuts and spending. So you know they want to raise the age of Medicare recipients because they won’t touch the these tax breaks for the wealthiest and the special interest in our country, it’s just plain wrong.

You're not using your Entrenched DC Bureaucrat dictionary. Any decrease in the expected growth of spending is automatically considered a budget cut.
****ing ridiculous.

I just love how they look at our tax money...it's like they think it's theirs.

They're not even that serious. It's a present, a gift, to be spent and splurged with no accounting or responsibility. Throw in baseline budgeting combined with a massive stimulus program, and you get sixteen trillion dollars of debt.
For every year the Senate has refused to pass a budget and relied on continuing resolutions, we have spent Obama's stimulus and then some. We are truly ****ed unless we get control of this mess, but DUmmies and liberals are determined not to.

I've come to believe that the dems have tapped into the dark side of The Force.
San Fran Nan: These are not the droids you're looking for.
DUmmies and Co: These are not the droids we're looking for.
San Fran Nan: We've got to pass the bill so you can see what's in the bill.

Yeah and they think that if we have too much of it that we stole it from someone who doesn't have as much.

Working for money is stealing. Stealing money from people who work and giving it to people who won't work is spreading the wealth or redistribution of wealth.
Democrat word play at its finest.
