Obama Gives Foreign Cops New Police Powers in U.S.

A little-discussed executive order from President Obama giving foreign cops new police powers in the United States by exempting them from such drudgery as compliance with the Freedom of Information Act is raising alarm among commentators who say INTERPOL already had most of the same privileges as diplomats.
At David Horowitz’s Newsreal, Michael van der Galien said the issue is Obama’s expansion of President Ronald Reagan’s order from 1983 that originally granted those diplomatic privileges.
Reagan’s order carried certain exemptions requiring that INTERPOL operations be subject to several U.S. laws such as the Freedom of Information Act. Obama, however, removed those restrictions in his Dec. 16 amendment to Executive Order 12425.
That means, van der Galien wrote today, “this foreign law enforcement organization can operate free of an important safeguard against government and abuse.â€
“‘Property and assets,’ including the organization’s records, cannot be searched or seized. Their physical locations are now immune from U.S. legal or investigative authorities,†he wrote.
Not a good thing, if you ask me. Far more at the link.

I don't think EO would extend such powers to any president.

I'm pretty sure there something like this making the rounds last year, and it was overblown.

Reagan's EO gave INTERPOL all the privileges except a certain few, all of those not given were tax/customs related except 1
Reagan's included:
b) International organizations, their property and their assets, wherever located, and by whomsoever held, shall enjoy the same immunity from suit and every form of judicial process as is enjoyed by foreign governments, except to the extent that such organizations may expressly waive their immunity for the purpose of any proceedings or by the terms of any contract.
Reagan's excluded this but Obama added it
(c) Property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable.
they were already immune from prosecution now they are also immune for search, not a big difference.

Congress were the ones who made the exemptions for foreign organizations, Reagan and Obama made INTERPOL one of those organizations

So, are they saying that INTERPOL can send agents into your house without a warrant to search it, and the locals will arrest you if the IMO illegal search turns anything up?
If not, this is just so much complaining about nothing.

It doesn't appear that the Regime is ASKING. They're just going to assume whatever power they want, so long as nobody is standing up to them.
