His imagination is pitiful, but it gets worse.

The Truth Was Deliverd[sic] This Morning at Home Depot
Went to HD this morning to pick up some batterys[sic] for the flashlight and a belt/filter for the vacuum cleaner.
While I was there I took time to walk around and see some of the new items in stock. I stepped into the flooring department to look at a box of carpet scraps I though would work good for car floor matts[sic] and at $2 bucks for a 18x18 inch sqaure[sic] that is very cheap for something that will get dirty anyhow.
Went up to the sales clerk who was helping a couple to see if they could square a corner and WAHLA[sic] the couple is one of the community's wealthiest residents. They were looking at some tile that was $15 a square. While the clerk was squaring up my carpet the rich man made a comment to the sames[sic] clerk that if it wasn't for the fact he was going to pay more tax this year Home Depot wouldn't get their BIZ.
He basically made the statement that he works hard for his money and should be rewarded with a larger tax cut and told the clerk if he worked hard he to[sic] should not have to pay higher tax.
I lost it and said "SIR can you tell me in the IRS TAX CODE where it says you should be rewarded based on the amount of work you do?... I said I dont[sic] believe there is a paragraph that say[sic] work hard pay less..RIGHT.
He said he was going to leave the store when I said DONT[SIC]..why are you going to punish the clerk for our disagreement and after all you wont[sic] find that tile any cheaper elsewhere and I walked.

1. What's it like, getting into a political argument every time you go anywhere?
Seems like every time you go anywhere, you run into conservatives who spout their every thought
just as you arrive, and you have to slap them down. Every time.
That must be exhausting.

2nd Encounter of the Day.... Over guns this time
Earlier today I called out a millionaire over a comment made about taxes and how he was bitching that he could only afford marble tile that is $15 a square.
Well tonight I grabbed my jingle bells and and called out a person who exposed his 9mm that he was concealing, he did have a permit.We were in line at the grocery store He reached for his wallet and the gun in the holster was exposed to me so I said can you wait for a moment I have a question to ask you.
I got checked out and towards the entrance I asked him " Do you carry liability insurance on that gun" no he said. I asked why not, he said there was no need for it. I then asked what if it was stolen and the criminal injured an innocent victim who will pay for their medical care, he said I guess the victim would. I said is that fair and his response was well I didnt shoot them. I then asked if he carry's liability and theft on his car to which he answered yes I do I said why. To protect myself against financial liability if my car is involved in a car accident.
I said again why shouldn't you also carry liability insurance on your gun... THE BELLS AND WHISTLES WENT OFF and then he understood my question. I said thanks for the minute of your time and told him I only owned a 22 rifle for a few months and sold back to the store I bought it from a few years ago.
I told him I have no issue with people owning guns but I do when they are obsessed with assault rifles and large clips and will not accept any changes for background checks,training and metal evaluation and a longer waiting period. I closed by saying thanks for the time and I hope you understand that the other side of the argument aren't that irrational as well. He said thanks for making a point he had never considered and left.
I watched him get in his truck and leave the p-lot and then went to my car...just to make sure.
We should be asking for our state legislatures to consider gun liability insurance and making hunting licenses applicable to certain types of guns.... Thats a start.

Why is it in 40 years on this earth I have only ever had a complete stranger bring up anything political one time? I guess I am just lucky.
The one time I ever got an earful was I stopped at a convenience store to fill up my tank and the owner operator of the place gave me an earful of how he was pissed that he voted for 0bama, and 0bama was raising cigarette taxes and that was going to kill his business. This was in Jan of 09.

Look... I know I live in a Red State and maybe that is the reason, but in my 34 years on this earth I have never had any political discussions or argument's with random people at Home Depot, a restaurant, or anywhere for that matter. How does this dude have a couple a week.
And for mikeysnot. I know some conservatives off all types. To ultra right wing, sorta right wing, middle of the road right wing... I can never ever see even the most right wing person I know saying. "what are you a leftist" or "it's all you liberals fault" am I missing something? Do I live some sort of sheltered life?

I have NEVER, EVER, in my 42 years of existence ever just said, "it's all you liberals' fault" or, "what are you, a leftist?"
I have only overheard one political discussion and it was in the retinal doctor's dilating room (in CA). It was a discussion between a moonbat and her mother about single payer healthcare. I never said a word.
I did discuss politics with a few of my doctors, one was my rhumatologist who I have known for 18 years (he doesn't like Obama), my Jewish occuplastic surgeon who did a Canthoplasty on my right eye, it was about Israel (I'll leave it up to your imagination what he thought), my primary doctor in CA (his politics meshed with mine, he liked me :-) ) and finally my eye doctor down here in Austin. He swings a little libertarian and liked Ron Paul but knew he couldn't win the election. I don't know what he thinks of him now after what Paul said about Chris Kyle. I really like this doctor, he acts like he gives a crap.

Hell, I live in a very blue state and damn near one of the most blue cities in a blue state (Eugene) and I've never had these kinds of encounters. I drive a truck with Marine Corps stickers on it...it's a freaking opportunity every single time I'm in a parking lot and nothing beyond the occasional "thank your son for his service" kind of thing. Closest I ever came to anything controversial was when a lady who was in the Navy came up to me and complained about the Marines that used to be stationed on the same ship she was on. It was rather weird. The closest my son's ever been to a ship is sitting in our drift boat, but whatever.

Someone brought up an interesting point the other day on the radio, forcing gun owners to carry insurance would be violation of the 4th Amendment because the insurance companies would be coming into your homes to count the number of guns you own.

What he's saying is that mandatory theft insurance would provide an effective incentive for proper firearm storage in order to keep the firarm from being stolen, but that's is a head-scratcher. If anything, the incentive should work in the opposite direction, since theft insurance reduces the cost of having the insured object stolen. But think about it: You probably have theft insurance on your car, but does that make you any more or less likely to lock your car when you leave it unattended? Or do you lock your car because you don't want it stolen?
The analogy with auto insurance he presents is flawed. States require auto insurance as a precondition not of ownership but of driving on public roads. Guns, by contrast, typically are kept in the home, and liability for accidents there is covered by homeowners insurance. It would also be constitutionally suspect for the government to condition the exercise of one's rights under the Second Amendment on the purchase of insurance.
In this primitive's account of the virtuous incentives his insurance scheme would purportedly establish, he leaves out the most obvious: By burdening gun owners with an additional cost, it would encourage some to give up guns altogether. I sure that the real goal here is to deter gun ownership or, failing that, to punish law-abiding gun owners. As for criminals, I doubt any of them will ever hesitate to use a gun because it is uninsured.

I had one of those the other day. My dry cleaning lady is a Korean (moved here from Korea) and I talk to her about her homeland and her family for a few minutes when she isn't busy. The picture on her calendar this month is a lake in a crater on a mountain between North Korea and China. She commented on how it is an active volcano and could explode soon. I told her I hope not, that it's the last thing the people trapped in North Korea need. She commented on how she had read stories of cannibalism coming out of North Korea.
No cops or cheering crowd were handy.

I went into several stores in Austin over the last couple of days and didn't hear any mention of any politics anywhere.
I did see plenty of Obama 2012 bumper stickers in the parking lots of the places I was, but no political discussions of any kind, and certainly no one showing their guns.
