Put the blame where it belongs, Nadin. The treehuggers and fed government. You can't build a power plant, run a power line, etc, without the treehuggers suing and the immense red tape of the fed government.
ESAD dumbass.

Frankly, I'd love to hear her explain how/why the feeder breaker tripped.
Pure unadulterated laughter to ensue.

God she has freaking lost it. It was a freaking power outage... they happen every once in awhile. She should go see some of the countries I lived in growing up where we would lose power daily for 5-10 hours or countries like NK where they have to do rolling power outages. She is so ****ing stupid.
And I love here arch nemesis Zappaman, he makes me smile.

Nadin knows as much about power distribution as she does about anything else. They had power restored within the hour, that tells me that the prime power guys were pretty much there, with backups and had the problem isolated within three minutes if they didn't know immediately.
We had an incident back in high school where the power went out for one of our games, very much like that. A brand new transformer blew and severed it's feed line which fell in a full parking lot and literally melted the tires off a bunch of cars before power to it was cut. It took the power company the better part of two hours to show up and replace the transformer. The first brand new transformer wasn't an infrastructure issue. According to Nadin, that was poor infrastructure.
We had an incident in the army where a contractor wanted to move the facility from prime power to generator backup due to power spikes he was seeing on the incoming power. When he switched to batteries, the switch fused in the battery position. We were unable to safely remove the switch until the site power was completely lost and we went off air. According to Nadin, that was poor infrastructure.
According to Nadin, Mexico which still doesn't bother supplying rural power, has a better infrastructure than us benighted hicks. She needs to go back.

I suspect the oblate spheroid has a burr under her saddle, is out of sorts, is bent out of shape, because one of her antagonists is now a host for General Discussion, and she can't be so flatulently promiscuous slopping herself around there like she used to.
I anticipate some more ill-tempered nadin campfires.

43. @BreakingNews Officials: Superdome outage occurred when sensing equipment detected an 'abnormality' - @AP
Let me translate that for you.
Sophisticated sensing equipment, designed to protect the infrastructure from damage, sensed a problem and shut things down before any serious damage could happen. The system worked as it was supposed to.
Think GFI or a big freakin' fuse.
This ain't plugging your toaster in, it's a bit more complicated.

I always thought it a good idea, a sensible idea, that because she doesn't like power plants, the oblate spheroid should be the first to step up to bat, giving up electricity, so as to set an example for the rest of us.

It was one of two things, a couple of the cousins were cruising in their coupe de ville and tried to steal the wrong copper wire or there is a rat some where BBQ'd to a crisp with its fangs still stuck in a 150,000 volt cable.

[Nadin's answer for outage]...someone forgot to feed the rats on the treadmills at the new "Green Power" power plant. Since only 1/2 the lights went out, maybe the rats are on half rations because corn is in my gas tank now.

Hemmmmmmm, I have this power dohinkey in my fuse box and in the kitchen and bathrooms that shut off the power if they get wet or overloaded. Handy little device to alert me to problems that could burn down the house.
I forget that things even when OFF still may pull some power, or so I have been told. Plugged in microwave and refrigerator, can opener and all sorts of gadgets on the same line, then when someone uses a hair dryer in a bathroom. turns on two TVs all on the same line------ the breaker trips.
I remember the old fuse boxes of yester years and when a short occurred some would place a penny under the fuse. Have seen the copper slugs sold in the past to do the same thing.
Workings of electricity are a mystery to me, this is why we need people that understand it, well trained in it and insure that should something go wrong the electricity is shut OFF.
Bought a 100 year old house with these doodads in the attic, white thingies that were used to insulate the wires for electricity. I have no idea how they worked but I remember seeing them in the farm house my grandparent lived in.
This has nothing to do with Nads infructure, has to do with the Union Electrocution's that wired the place.
-
A stadium should be able to handle it.
Newsflash, nads--the stadium DID "handle it". The "power surge" was (from what I'm hearing) caused by a problem with a piece of equipment inside the Superdome (not the outside utility.) Because of this fault, the feeder to that load, most likely maxxed out already, tripped on overcurrent, which supplied a number of other loads, such as the escalators, lights, etc., that were lost last night.
IOW, it took out the fault while at the same time minimizing the number of loads which were disrupted, you malodorous scrunt. If you had a ****ing clue of which you spoke, you'd know that.
Now go away and let the adults continue the conversation, mkay?

Shortly after the game, Entergy, the local power company, and SMG, the management company of the Mercedes Superdome, released the following statement:
"Shortly after the beginning of the second half of the Super Bowl in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, a piece of equipment that is designed to monitor electrical load sensed an abnormality in the system. Once the issue was detected, the sensing equipment operated as designed and opened a breaker, causing power to be partially cut to the Superdome in order to isolate the issue. Backup generators kicked in immediately as designed. Entergy and SMG subsequently coordinated start up procedures, ensuring that full power was safely restored to the Superdome. The fault-sensing equipment activated where the Superdome equipment intersects with Entergy’s feed into the facility. There were no additional issues detected."
Above is a statement from the companies involved. Looks to me like every thing worked exactly as designed. I think if you wanted to paraphrase the released statement into a shorter version it would be: nads is wrong yet again.

To me, it's something like this.
I'm sitting at a bar, and next to me is the town whore, a smelly, moth-eaten, disease-ridden, scabrous, fat old tramp. Out of the blue, she suddenly shouts to me, "You can't have me, not for even a couple hundred bucks."
(That actually happened.)
I have no idea what ever possessed her to think I wanted to have her, even if free.
nadin oftentimes brings up that memory, when she puts primitives on iggy lists.

Realizing that one IS an ass, vs realizing that one has taken on the aspect of an ass, is a distinction worth making. We all occasionally suffer from the latter. Nadin cannot even countenance the former. She is an ass of the highest order. Not an airbrushed, inviting ass, either, but a bruised, pimpled ass on a biker chick sitting on the toilet in a 1975 issue of Juggs.

As I'm sure you're well aware, coach, it's not so much to punish THEM as to avoid the inconvenient truth that most people think she's an idiot.
I'd rather suspect she gets a lot of that IRL as well.
