Ex Navy Sniper Killed at Gun Range....

Kyle, an outspoken advocate for war veterans, claimed more than 150 sniper killings in Iraq, which he described as a record for any American. He said insurgents placed a bounty on his head and nicknamed him "the devil.”
Maybe they were right....

One has to wonder how many of those who were executed, truly had to be...

1. I doubt it was a bounty hit.

He took a PTSD veteran to a firing range...the ill veteran shot him and another man....Sounds to me like Kyle's delusional arrogance was at fault.

This was not therapeutic nor is/was Kyle a trained psychologist or therapist.

What have you done to try to help veterans with PTSD? Nothing so sit down and shut up DUmmy.

2. Snipers and DMRs are not executioners

In his overwatch and cover position there is no telling how many American and Afghan green forces he saved, We have fairly rigid engagement rules for our marksmen. He wasn't just popping grapes at random.
He was an outspoken supporter of returning vets and very well respected among vets. It actually looks like a PTSD vet he was trying to help is the one that killed him, this is tragedy for both of them.
No devil, not by a long shot.

SQUEE you are wasting your time arguing with these idiots.

6. he has never claimed the "World Record"

Last edited Sun Feb 3, 2013, 01:44 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

He does have the highest of U.S. confirmed kills, there are Finnish and Soviets that have higher..
What is wrong here, having known people that attended his classes, and met the man, he is actually well more for his support of returning vets, the fact that he has a claim on a martial milestone is something he has used to further his work for vets. Many consider him a great man and a man that has stood up for his brothers and spoken out on the ill treatment they receive , being used up and cast away after the Gov is through with them.

4. The biggest lie of the gun worshippers exposed for what it is -

"we need guns to make us safe". so how did that work out for ya this time?

I knew the DUmmies were going to jump on this and try to use it as proof of how dangerous guns are, and how they should be banned.

22. The service did that.

He had a higher record than Seitzev at Stalingrad.

This is just the nature of war.

There are no words for the pile of shit posted by El. Guapo . She hasn't a clue of what it takes to be a sniper let alone a DM in an infantry platoon. Pisses me off to see that shit.

Wonder when she'll tell us all about the time the top German and top Russian snippers went head to head in Stalingrad.

Dear DUmmies--when someone is in a situation where they don't EXPECT someone to put one in the back of your head, ya ever think that might be when they'd be most vulnerable to exactly that?

You ****ing people are too ****ing stupid to live.

What the... You dumb ignorant...  :argh:  CPO Kyle did NOT exceed Vasily Zaytsev's record. Zaytsev had over 400 confirmed kills during the seige of Stalingrad. CPO Kyle does hold the record previously held by Adelbert F. Waldron III of most kills by an American sniper during a time of war. Do your f@#king research you alleged reporter. Less than one minute's searching of the interwebs proved you to be the ignorant, loud mouthed, fool EVERYONE (including all of DU) knows you to be.

P.S. it's sad when you can't spell in ANY LANGUAGE and claim to be a reporter. It's Zaytsev, not Seitzev

Heard on the radio news this morning that the guy who shot him had already been institutionalized twice already.

The guy was in the boobyhatch very recently for threatening to kill his family.

And Kyle allowed him to handle a loaded weapon.

I always thought a sniper would have to be a pretty smart guy with very good judgment. Apparently not.

Hard to know if you're not allowed to check.  HIPPA and all that, oh, and the "stigma".  Can't forget that either.

I think it's fair to put some blame on the ACLU;

http://www.redstate.com/jack_savage/2012/12/20/is-the-aclu-responsible-for-the-massacre-in-newtown-repost/

Quote
From an ACLU of New Mexico press release:

August 6, 2008

CONTACT: (505) 266-5915 ext. 1003

ALBUQUERQUE— Yesterday, the New Mexico Court of Appeals struck down a city ordinance, affirming an earlier ruling, that would have empowered the city of Albuquerque to forcibly medicate people with mental illnesses. The Assisted Outpatient Treatment Law (AOT) conflicted with state laws that require patient consent before treatment.  This decision is a tremendous victory – upholding civil liberties in New Mexico.

But he knew. The news story said the nut's mother had asked Kyle to help him, so Kyle had to know the guy was off his rocker.

Unless he asked and they lied to him or he didn't ask and they kept it a secret it still would be hard to tell just how wacked he was. As was pointed out. You can't give out most information to anyone about their mental health unless your their Doctor. It's impossible to get this problem solved because the AMA and the ACLU will fight it which is why most of the talk about more background checks will probably fail as long as it pertains to the mentally ill.

That, and nuts rarely own the weapon they use. Most often it belongs to a family member.

It happens too rarely to be an important issue, except that the muslim and his allies want it to be the great national debate.

That way, his economic disasters will get less attention.

I'd be happy to just get Dennis the Menace in an asylum.
