Retail Workweek Hits 3-Year Low In ObamaCare Shift
The fly in the ointment of January's jobs report was the apparent shift to part-time work ahead of a key ObamaCare deadline.
Although retail payrolls grew by 32,600, total hours worked in the industry dipped, Labor Department data out Friday showed.
The explanation? Rank-and-file retail workers logged the shortest workweek since early 2010: just 30.1 hours, on average, vs. 30.4 in December.
While the data are volatile and the shift to shorter workweeks in January was less than dramatic, this may be the start of something big. All signs suggest that businesses are starting to adjust their employment policies in response to ObamaCare. It's possible that much of this shift may occur in the next few months.
The 30 Or 50 Rule
New Treasury Department guidelines released early last month give businesses until June 30 before their staffing levels begin to influence fines that may apply in 2014 when the ObamaCare exchanges launch.

2. I think part of that was a soft Christmas sales period and traditionally the Winter months are slower in any year once you are past Christmas so numbers in that sector will tend to be lower.
There never is just one reason.
New campfire, just lit. I'll check it later.

And when the government goes bankrupt, then what? You think the NHS is all that? Or the Canadian healthcare system? Oh, I know--CUBA!!! That's the ticket!

Well we got a dummy that actually says what all libs and dems want!!! Government health care.
I have an idea, dummie. You should go spend some time in countries that have government health care. Cuba and N. Korea comes to mind. Until you do that dummies, shut the hell up.
Perhaps the federal government should open up some hospitals, much like the VA, and service the dummies. They could buy into whatever the premiums are, no assistance, and can never get off it. Ever. Oh and you can't sue the hospital either for cutting off your foot when you sprain your ankle.
So how 'bout it dummie? You game?

The DUmmies sure are full of excuses in all thing relating to King obama and his decrees.

Duh...I worked in retail. 4th qtr was our best season for sales. So why was there a contraction? Probably had something to do with CONSUMER CONFIDENCE, FEWER PEOPLE IN THE WORK FORCE, LOWER WAGES AND OBAMA RAISING TAXES.
As far as Jan. numbers in unemployement going up, that is normal. You hire extra for the Christmas season, after Christmas sales, inventory, stocking spring and then you lay them off.
Most retail jobs are part time. Always have been. Chain retail operates by two criteria. Meeting projected sales and staying within their budgeted labor hours.

What did the Libs think was gonna happen when Obamacare kicked in...just keep operating at pre ACA level like nothing was wrong?
They just don't grasp that the majority of Americans don't want this POS legislation.

I hope the DUmmies read the entire article.
A family of four earning $50,000 a year in 2016 would save $11,300 via ObamaCare subsidies relative to employer coverage, the Congressional Budget Office has said

More promises, yet they won't kick in until 2016....everyone will be broke by then by paying for their own health coverage by then.
