Title: Not Computer Related
Post by: mrclose on February 02, 2013, 12:20:46 AM
Then again .. maybe it is!?

I am looking for a site .. simple and easy to use where I can store bits and pieces of information.

I would like to free up some disk space on my pc where I have hundreds of folders with nothing more than bits and pieces of articles I've run across or just plain 'musings' of my own.

I don't want or need a website and someone suggested a blog?

I've looked at a few blog site providers and they look more complicated than what I feel I need or can use.

Also .. aren't all blogs open for everyone to see?

I want private storage if possible.

I have dropbox and sugarsync but I need something more like a notepad except .. on the internet itself and not my disc.

If this makes any sense .. all help will be appreciated!

Thanks Everyone

External hard drive.

Agreed. But if you have an available USB port, you might think of a flash drive. Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/USB-Flash-Drives-Storage-Add-Ons/b?ie=UTF8&node=3151491) has them.

There are any number of internet sites that provide storage, but I'm leary of them because anybody can get to them. What's needed is additional storage offline. An external hard drive is one way, a flash drive is another.

The flash drive is cheaper and more transportable.

I would never, ever, trust any of my files, to any, on-line service.
None.

I use google drive for most all of my day-to-day document storage, with the exception of a very few documents (such as scans of the myriad of licenses you need in this country , birth certs etc) that need to be kept secure. Those reside on different media in a safe.
