ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (WJBK) -
St. Clair Shores admits it has a rat problem. They're trying anything and everything to get rid of rodents, and that may include a bounty program.
Rats can look so darn cute in pictures with their little eyes and button nose, but for a lot of people that live in St. Clair Shores, there is nothing cute about the critters. They want them gone.
"We had seven dead rats this summer that we've caught. I did see a dead one about two weeks ago in the middle of the street, and then two nights ago I saw one crossing the street at night," said Heather Hawkins.
Rat traps can be spotted around homes and in backyards. It's part of the effort to control the rodents, which have become a very expensive problem.
"They're nesting in vehicles and chewing up wires and destroying people's vehicles. So not only is it a health concern, but it's starting to cost people money," said Nicole Stanley.
Ahhh, bounty hunters! Ought to be 'interesting.'.

No. It actually isn't technically. Its in Macomb county while Detroit is in Wayne county. While it may be close to Detroit make no mistake St Clair Shores is most definetly not Detroit. Some of the wealthiest people in the state live there along with Gross Pointe which is even closer to Detroit! The reason they have the rat problem they have has alot to do with being situated on what for all intents and purposes is the 6th Great Lake (Lake St Clair).

The bounty hunters, gives the kids something to do in the Summer and make enough money to buy Pot.
Instead of the kids playing baseball they are out with their bats rat bopping.
Much more fun for the kids, chasing a rat that can bring in 5 bucks is allot of exercise for the kids the whole deal of where the rats are, steak outs at dumpsters, Get kids together to use team work working together to make plan and execute it. Money is involved, more rats caught and bopped the more change in their pockets.
Put the kids in charge of this problem, forget he traps and poison, at $5.00 a rat I would be breeding them in my cellar.

Can't even shoot the little vermin as .22 ammo is sold out everywhere you go.
