15-year-old girl who performed at Obama inauguration gunned down in Chicago

A 15-year-old girl was killed on the South Side of Chicago on Tuesday, just a week after she performed at President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
Hadiya Pendleton was hanging out at Vivian Gordon Harsh Park near her high school at around 2:30 p.m., “when someone jumped a fence, ran up to them, and opened fire,†according to WBBM-TV.
Pendleton was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital where she died an hour later from a gunshot wound to her back. A 16-year-old boy was also wounded in the attack.

I suspect it was Rush Limbaugh who did it... wait did they say "jumped the fence"? Okay, maybe Sean Hannity would be more realistic. Better yet, maybe it was Paul Ryan. I heard he once jumped the grand canyon.

... but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this is a "message" from the Rethugs to the average American.

My thoughts and prayers go out for the young girl's family during this difficult time for them. How sad. The young lady must of felt like she was on top of the world preforming at a Presidential inauguration only to later face this tragic end to her life.

I read about this online yesterday morning.
The young girl lived in an "upscale" area as was the park. She didn't live in the 'hood.
She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. So sad.

Every gun owner should get in line and put their child on that street corner, walk away and leave them there. Then go home and kiss your ****ing gun goodnight.
It caused quite a firestorm. What a mess of a thread. It goes veering off into marijuana, then into diamonds, and then I gave up.

So let me see if I get this straight:
The streets are unliveable hell holes as demonstrated by the fact that if you leave your child on them you will suffer the same loss as the family that just lost their daughter but anybody who claims you need a gun to protect their children in reaction to the fact the streets are unliveable hellholes should suffer just such a loss because they are the reason the streets are unliveable hellholes.

CHICAGO — A 15-year-old girl who had performed in President Barack Obama's inauguration festivities is the latest face on the ever-increasing homicide toll in the president's hometown, killed in a Chicago park as she talked with friends by a gunman who apparently was not even aiming at her.
Chicago police said Hadiya Pendleton was in a park about a mile from Obama's home in a South Side neighborhood Tuesday afternoon when a man opened fire on the group. Hadiya was shot in the back as she tried to escape.
About three blocks from Hadiya's school, she and a group of 10-12 young people, including members of her volleyball team, had taken refuge under a canopy at a park to avoid the rain Tuesday afternoon. A man climbed a fence behind the park, ran at the group and started shooting, and then jumped back over the fence and into a white Nissan. The group scattered, but Hadiya was shot once in the back and a teenage boy was shot in the leg.
Comments by both Stewart and the girl's father echo the message that city officials have long said: Gun violence is not confined to street corners in dangerous neighborhoods. Obama's neighborhood, Kenwood, is just north of the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry.
She went to King College Prep...an elite magnet school. Maybe the thug fired into the group cause he had a problem with black kids that had it better than him... :???:

I wasn't limiting the slums of obamaville, irregardless of the value of the houses, to the area near his home. I was including both the entire North and South side.
