You can't watch a video ANYWHERE (maybe DU) that doesn't have a freaking commercial first
and then if it's a series of videos, the same ****ing commercial over and over and over again. I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to email companies and tell them their commercials are suckie and intrusive and I won't buy the products.
Yeah sure they need to sell, yeah sure the company with the video needs to make money advertising, but shit 10-30 or 20-15 second commercials in an hour????
Progressive commericals suck the worst. Phony.

Yeah the ads are annoying, but you know what I'd rather sit through an ad or 2 and get the videos for free.

4. The internet is becoming a tool to make more people buy more things
Yeah, its all good for learnin and stuff. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to be that last smart guy standing on the shores of Easter Island, watching the sun go down. Maybe Ill instagram it
But we all can't be that last guy.

Someone has to pay for the bandwidth. So you can either suck it up and endure some ads or you can pay for the bandwidth yourself.

5. I try to look away
so I don't even see or hear the bullshit they spew in those commercials. Most of the time I succeed at not knowing what they're saying/selling but is still irritates me to have to deal with it at all.
What a rebel. :rotf:

To paraphrase Kevin Sorbo, It's called 'show business' people, not 'show show.'

So like always the dummies want something for free? The ads are there for the same reason there are ads anywhere.
When it comes to Youtube those ads help people like me pay their bills and continue to produce content for others to watch. I'm not paid a huge amount from them, but it's still a nice little bit (anything extra counts). The least people could do is watch them and if they don't want too then they can click the skip button that pops up.
And no, I won't link any of you to my channels. :p
10-30 or 20-15 second commercials in an hour
I've never witnessed any website serve that many ads. I'm calling BS on that unless someone can show an example. The worst I've seen is the Discovery Channels online player with 8-15 second ads for an hour.
Yeah the ads are annoying, but you know what I'd rather sit through an ad or 2 and get the videos for free.
More or less this. It also helps you get fewer ads then on the TV as well.

I watched a show on YouTube that was more than an hour long and had little tick marks every 10-15 minutes when an ad would play. So far that is the only one I've seen like that. Most others have an ad at the start of a show and many of those you can click past after 15 seconds.

Wait until the stupid **** sees that youtube is considering charging for viewing.

Good find Frank!

Its pretty simple - YouTube provides a platform for people to put videos up on.
There are costs associated with that platform that YouTube needs to cover to continue providing 'free' service.
-
BIG costs too. Hugely big. Massively so.
-
If you want to watch youtube for free you need to put up with the ads.
