I made it through the first minute.

I watched the whole thing, because the closed-captioning was good; obviously not a job done by nadin.
But I still don't get the plot of it.

But I still don't get the plot of it.
Imagine two children, under eight years, brother and sister, playing with sister's Barbies.
Cooking consists of the toy food being placed on the table...
The boy gets a bit fed up, wishes he had a GI Joe instead, and starts a "fight"...
That's how I interpret it, anyway.
The dance number toward the end eludes me...but the very last scene hits home. Ever looked into a child's room after bedtime, when they hadn't picked up their toys? The child lends life to the toys. When the child is gone (even temporarily), the toys die. A bit sad, it makes me...even when I'm sure the next day they will be recalled to life*.
*A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens, 1859.

Maybe we're looking at this wrong? Like what if there is a political undertone to it? Discuss.
