"What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday lashed out over the claim that the administration misled Americans about the nature of the Libya terror attack by asserting that it was the result of a protest, raising her voice during a Senate hearing and asking: "What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Clinton, in what may be her final set of testimony as secretary, pointedly challenged Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson when he claimed the department could have "easily" determined what happened that night by interviewing staffers who were evacuated.

He was referring to the administration's initial claim that the attack sprung out of a protest. It was later determined there was no protest on the ground in Benghazi. Diplomatic security agents said as much to the FBI during interviews on Sept. 14, despite administration claims to the contrary two days later.

"That was a piece of information that could have been easily -- easily -- ascertained, within hours if not days," Johnson said.

"We were misled that there were supposedly protests and something sprang out of that. ... The American people could have known that (there was no protest) within days, and they didn't know that."

At that point, Clinton began to raise her voice.

"With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans," she said.

"I understand," Johnson said.

Clinton continued to speak, raising her voice and gesturing: "Was it because of a protest or is it because of guys out for a walk one night and they decide they go kill some Americans?

"What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Clinton, lowering her voice, then said it is the administration's job to "figure out what happened" and prevent it from happening again.

Nice dodge, Hillary.

Except it ain't working.

You're holding the bag. And it's leaking blood all over your shoes.

But that's okay. It's not going anywhere. What's one dead Ambassador and 3 others who died defending American soil? What difference, at this point, does it make?

Scrunt.

I think the delays were done intentionally hoping the testimony would be forgotten about by the low information voters that are 44's base.

Her "at this point what does it matter" comment validates this train of thought. She would have been more honest if she'd just come out and said "personally I don't give a f**k".

I watched part of the questioning and was  :puke: she filabustered every time she was asked a question talking B-S off topic. This is a favorite tactic used by the lying lefties.

What does it matter? It matters that four Americans are dead and the US Government that they worked for stood by and did nothing and now is just putting on a dog and pony show instead of getting to the answers they should be looking for. Those people that sat on their hands while pleas for help when it was barely hours away need to be jailed and never let out. Sadly though it'snot going to happen because liberalism and Dear Leader are above all of that law abiding stuff. IF this had been Bush in office they would have had the gallows built the next day in front of the White House.

WASHINGTON — Republican Sen. Rand Paul said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had been negligent in conducting her job, and said that if he were president, he would have relieved her of her post.

Paul said that the fact that she was not aware of the requests of more security for the U.S. Embassy in Libya constituted “a failure of leadership” and said it was “inexcusable.”

“I think ultimately…you accept the culpability for the worst tragedy since 9/11,” Paul said.

“Had I been president at the time and I had found that you had not read the cables from Benghazi, you had not read the cables from Ambassador Stevens,” he went on, “I would have relieved you of your post.”

Paul accused Clinton of being directly responsible for the loss of lives in the September 11, 2012 attacks.

“Not to know of the requests for security really, I think, cost these people their lives,” he said.

Well, she claimed she was "done" in politics after her tour of duty as SecState, which was about as sincere and meaningful as a fart in a hurricane.

She's ambitious, however. And she won't rest until she's once again in the driver's seat -- the Oval Orifice just might fit that bill....

Besides, the average voter has a very, very short memory. This Benghazi thing will be a long-distant memory by the time things start heating up again.

Hi,

For me to add my 2 cents worth would be preaching to the choir.  My biggest concern is our short memory.

Whether it was the Rose Law Firm, serving as legal counsel to communists, covering up the Whitewater land deal, getting political payoffs from Tyson foods theoretically trading futures for her, or lying about Benghazi; it is all the same thing.  Lies that drive us nuts, are covered up by the media, and they continue to get away with.

She draws another "under the rug" that would take any republican's career to toast in a minute, and we think she is finished.  No chance!  BO plenty and the Clintons think they are invincible and so far they have been.  It is going to take something a whole lot worse that the media cannot cover up to bring her down.

Biden will try to run in 2016.  The democrat party, sensing defeat, will call upon Hillary to ride in on a white horse and save the day; here comes superbroad to the rescue.  Look at all her wonderful experience, leaders around the world look up to her; she will save the day.

All the while republicans will be saying but, but, but, look at the facts....  Hasn't worked yet.  And what did the republicans do on the committee?  I did not see them doing much of a number on her either.

I consider myself an optomist most of the time, but also a realist.  The Clintons have got away with this crap for decades, so what's new?  2016, no matter how bad the economy gets, is not going to be a cakewalk.  We better hope the 35 Republican governors, with republican legislatures force through more voter ID laws.

BTW, did anyone see that Walker won the appeal on limiting the power of teachers union in WI?  Funny how it was not mentioned much.  Gee I wonder why.

regards,

5412--I agree 100%. However, 4 years is a long way off. Biden and Hillary have had health problems in the past. So, it is no gimme that either one will run in 2016.

I did not watch the hearings because I am tired of listening to a bunch of liars in this administration. Plus, most Repubs are too chickenshit to get in her face.

Politicians....their world is a whole other reality.

Imagine you had been the one questioning Clinton. What would you likely say to her?

First thing that comes to mind: "You're raising your voice. Sounds like you have something to hide!"

Why couldn't any of the Republicans on the questioning panel, think to say that? Instead of long-winded, confusing, go nowhere questions, which can easily be dodged (as Clinton showed yesterday), just come right out and put her on the spot! You want the truth, then squeeze a bit! Make things uncomfortable! Thats when you are most likely to get the truth, especially from a criminal liar like Clinton.

What's with those glasses? I don't recall seeing her with those thick glasses before. With the Clintons, everything is a prop.

One thought for 2016, she will be 66 this October, turning 69 during the 2016 campaign. She doesn't look all that good now. Think of how she'll look almost 4 years from now. I know it's not fair, but not sure if the superficial voters will go for a woman who's starting to look very old. Guys can get away with it----sometimes.

As for Biden, he'll be 74 then. He already says anything that pops into his head. Can you imagine how weird he'll be in 4 years? I just hope that the Republicans manage to dredge up a better candidate in 2016----and it better not be Chris Cristy.

The fact that she and 0bama stood there surrounded by coffins of dead Americans and lied to the families and the country is unforgivable. May the burn in hell and the press along with them for not reporting on it and hounding them until the truth came out. It SO pisses me off. They've become a propaganda machine for the regime. Had they done their job we'd have President Romney right now. While he wasn't my first choice (actually he was my last) but at least he wouldn't dishonor the office. 0bama is nothing but a sociopath & a pig.

Interesting little note about Hillary's testimony that I found today:

Quote
WHI:  What I think about Hillary’s show this morning?  All bullsh-t.  Every single second of it.  Want to know something the media isn’t telling you?  That neither the Republicans, the White House, or Hillary’s people are telling you?

EVERY F-CKING QUESTION WAS AGREED TO BEFOREHAND.  Hillary had notes for every question. Watch her look down every time a question is asked.  She sucks at hiding it. That’s the tell.  They negotiated the terms of the questioning weeks ago.  She was prepared.  There is no real investigation by the Senate.  There is no real search for justice here.  None. Zero. Zip. Nada.  Complete bullsh-t.

Normally there’s agreements between staff prior to this kind of thing, but this time the Hillary camp and the Obama White House locked down the questions.  Hillary wanted to protect her ass, and the White House sure as hell was looking to protect their boy.  And this was all agreed to at least two weeks ago. Probably longer.

And now a note from your crazy Aunt Vesta from the attic.

Into the Way Back Machine and remember, how we first met Hillery, so young with that head band and blond hair.  The first I  remember seeing her was an interview when her husband was against the ropes for  having an affair while married to her, and Governor.  Hard choices here, as Dear Abby says would she be" better off with or without him".

People get sucked into this POWER stuff and keep wanting more.   Bill wanted to be president at all cost, and had to have have made many consessions to Hillery to stand beside him. Nothing can explane his telling the world that he and Hillery were Co-Presidents,  Hillery had him by the balls.

Unprecedented that she  sat in on all security meetings and she was privy to all conversations Bill had with world leaders.  She gained in power ever day, found those in power and sucked up to them as they did to her.

She let down her guard and in came a White House Intern -could have been anyone really, And the Shit hit the fan. Now what for Hillery, stiff upper lip and a "Stand by your Man" as her power depended on her Husband.

Husband was support for her running for president, that near killed him. He showed up all over the country to support her and began to look like he had been beaten up.  Poor man aged 20 years at that in time.

Onward to Obama and her appointment that was outside her understanding, She did not under stand she had been used as a puppet and told only what the administration wanted her to know. She was used as a street hooker is by a pimp.

I do not know what she did or did not know about the Embassy problems, who forgot to pass along information to her or who was not allowed to.

Sad, when the grasp for power gets to a point,  the enemy come out of the wood work like bed bugs when a 300 Pounder lays down to sleep.

Hillery was sand bagged by the administration, the scape goat and now knows what the female leaders of Rome found to their regret.

Talk about betray by your country.

Vesta, dear, I'm about three glasses of a fine red wine too gone to appreciate your entire post.  However, I glean from it that you think Hillary was sandbagged by the Odumbo administration.  To that, I can only say it serves her right since she was willing to lay down with the mangy Hyena in Chief and his Boss Lady (word used advisedly :bird:).  She SHOULD have been tired of being ****ed over royally (see Exhibit Loser Bill Clinton), but apparently some people are just too damn stupid to learn from their mistakes.  All I know is if she ever aspired to higher political office, those dreams are dead.  As dead as American prosperity is until we can rid ourselves of some Kenyan parasites in 4 years.
