Inauguration: What's with all the praying?

Lot of public prayers in public places. Should this bother me? Are these people being paid to pray in public buildings?

Only at DU do they need to ask the rest of the hive if they should be bothered by something.

6. So did I...

But today it was kind of weird...especially for him to center unity/equality etc as a theme to his speech. Seems to me that he is excluding an awful lot of people. He never mentioned the I Ching did he?

Lucky for us, God does not hear the prayers of the wicked.

When I walked past the TV the wife was watching, the preacher was praying for the queers......you'd think the DUmmies wouldn't have a problem with that.

I changed the channel when Battle Hymn of the Republic started

The inauguration should be a secular ceremony.

As it is, it's like a Christian revival meeting.

Turned off and tuned out.

I've got to agree with the DUmb****'s sentiment--I didn't like the arrangement of the Battle Hymn.  I guess I'm jaded with the Wilhousky arrangement.

Also, Congress is not in session today.

Almost, you idiot. If you were to say that most people in the federal government were not working today but still got paid you would be closer. I showed up at work at 0715 and managed to get out of there about 6PM.

There is one good thing though - if congress is not is session that is one less day that they have available to do stupid things...
