@ScottMichaux: Phil Mickelson is considering shutting down his career next year because of new tax laws, according to those who heard postround interview.

Third-hand story that Mickelson may retire - jealous DUmmies realize a critical taxpayer may stop filling the coffers, so... (http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=2226025)
Ten trillion nervous replies. Sorry, DU, and your true intentions are showing: one MUST work to pay the taxes required to support your sorry
asses. God knows you assholes sure won't.

71. Can someone explain the bullshit replies in this thread, please?
A pro golfer is rumored to be quitting. SO THE **** WHAT? So far the replies seem to indicate that he is somehow compelled to keep playing (um, why? He's a ****ing American and can do what the **** he wants), or he 'sucks' (um, actually, he's one of the top 10-20 players in the history of the game, thanks), or he's inferior to Tiger (really? How much state income tax does Tiger pay? Yeah - zero.), or he's 'fat' (he's almost certainly in better shape than 90% of DU).
Were you guys depending on him for entertainment and/or tax revenues? Get a ****ing life.

All of the takers...including most of DU...are depending on rich people like Lefty...or Tiger or (insert rich person here) to keep on earning a salary in order to fund the DUmmies welfare lifestyle.

Hey, DUmb****s--another term for what Lefty is doing is, 'Going Galt.'
It'll be rather popular soon.

Whaddya mean, "soon"? I seem to recall reading all manner of stories about how leftards and other assorted hypocrites (**cough**Washington Post, George Lucas, Al Gore**cough**) either sold, were trying to sell businesses, or pay dividends for 2013 in 2012 so the tax hit wouldn't be as hard.

But, they have the best intentions.... :whatever:

Mickelson Fat = Earns millions.
(D)Ummies Fat = Pondering Moms' last bag of Cheetos with a drained EBT card.

Phil Mickelson will be playing golf with Gerard Depardieu and John Galt.
Who will round out the foursome?

3. I hope he does, he and his wife can spend the money they have left and they
can live under a ****ing bridge. I hear Alaska has some lovely bridges. Then, presto, no ****ing taxes to pay. Stupid dumb ass whiny ****er.
Do you seriously think he'll be living under a bridge? For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. You can't get around that.
All kinds of high earners are dropping out. Why the hell shouldn't they? Why work for the likes of your lazy DUmb asses? You're not even nice people. Watch out when the doctors start to go fishing instead.
And then they have post after post calling him a "douchebag" over and over again, as if nobody read the others' comments. They can't even come up with an original pejorative.

One of my clients sold his business this year. He said with the president that we have now he figured he better get out while the getting is good.

The mechanic who owned the garage that my family has been going to for the last 40 years, sold his business. The new owner told me, to my face, 'I'm not changing a thing.' He's not stupid.
But, he'll probably have to.

Yo!

Yo!
Hell I'd be happy to just caddy that round.
-
And in the tit department, Phil is just a little bit short of Pam Anderson.

Skinner tries to justify the bad behavior of the DUmmies. FAIL. Skinner is just jealous because he hasn't been able to extract that much from the EBT-adled DUmmies for him to live like Mr. Mickelson.

80. Allow me to explain.
Phil Mikelson is going to pay a few percent more in taxes than what he is paying now, and he claims he will stop playing golf because of it. So -- if we are to believe it -- Mr. Mikelson would stop earning entirely because somehow making zero dollars is better than making millions and handing a slightly larger fraction back to the government in taxes.
Yes, this is America and he can do whatever the **** he wants. But choosing to earn zero dollars rather than millions of dollars is the definition of dumb.
I don't follow sports, and I don't care if this guy plays golf or not. But if he does quit golf because of this modest tax increase he's a fool. He deserves to be ridiculed for it.

No, $kammer, allow ME to explain to YOU.
Lefty already pays close to 50 percent of his earnings in taxes. I'm not far behind, and I'm nowhere near his income bracket. If someone came along and told you that for being out on the road for 9-10 months out of the year, with a wife battling breast cancer, and young children at home, is going to bring even LESS of his income home, what would YOU do? No, $kammer--living out of a suitcase for 10 months a year and having Unca Shuga take more than half of what you earn is not exactly fair now, is it? Did Obama help Lefty make that critical put during the Masters? Or that drive to keep him in the hunt on Moving Day at the US Open? If anything, he "built that." As your Golfer-In-Chief how hard it can be, given he sucks so bad at golf.
And consider the extra expenses he has as a pro athlete, agents, publicists, lawyers, accountants, etc. Think they work for free? Think the PGA pays them?
Yup--I'd be taking that money I already have earned and invested, live off the interest, pay the much lower capital gains taxes off that, and tell you moochers to **** off.
Trust me, a guy like Phil can live quite well off of what he's earned in his career. He's well beyond the point of needing you.
And if you don't follow sports, why the **** are you even commenting on it, dipshit?

Did Skinner diss his own posters, website and party? this line is what stuck out to me:
Mr. Mikelson would stop earning entirely because somehow making zero dollars is better than making millions
That comment describes the welfare state and Democratic voters.

Actually, it's Mikelson that has already made his pile.
Now it is the government that will be making less rather than a bit more be due to a higher percentage.
There's an economic theory called the Laffer Curve.
Your merry band of misfits insist it does not exist.
They're wrong.
Again.

Actually, Sparks, he lives in CA and says it will now be closer to 62%. I'd quit, too. Play golf for fun, live off my investments, and thumb my nose at the leeches, parasites, and democraticks.
-
Phil has more class in a hemorrhoid than all of DU combined. He's worked hard to earn his money, and I sincerely hope he continues to play golf...as a resident of another state.
-
I haven't followed it that closely, but didn't hear him say he'd retire.
He said something about taking action in response to the high tax burden.
I think he'll move out of California.
Many top pros - even the top European pros - live in Florida due to the low tax rates and no state income tax.
I sure don't see him retiring from tournament golf.
He probably makes ten dollars in endorsement and appearance money for every dollar in winnings, but he needs the TV visibility to keep his endorsement price high.
-
The angrier DUmmies are, the happier I am. :fuelfire: :lmao:

Was reading about these rumors at a sports site earlier today, and Phil made just shy of $50 mil in 2012, including endorsements, winnings, appearance fees, etc. Moving to a more tax friendly state would be a very prudent move for him financially. But he has been a life-long west coast guy, and most of his family is in CA & AZ. Wouldn't blame him a bit for moving.
-
Phil is doing the best thing for him. His life isn't dependant on making the 50% that don't contribute shit to this country a damn thing happy. If he moves or retires I say good for him. If all of us did or could do the same thing the greasy wheels of Liberalism would grind to a halt very fast.

I saw that in some article today. Hell, why work if more than 60 percent of your money is confiscated from you? Especially if you can lower your income and still maintain the same lifestyle and not have the pressure.
No brainer.

The thing that the DUches don't understand is that the guy that replaces Lefty will be from another country and not paying any taxes. Just like taxing and regulating industry. Industry does not stay here in America, it leaves the country and then there is ZERO for the moochers and low IQers to steal from the productive.
I had a communist acquaintance that upon hearing I was shutting down my engineering company say that it was no big deal because somebody else would fill my market. I had to explain to them that we were the only company in the USA making this type of test equipment and that all the business would go to Japan and Germany. It was lost on their low mentality and experience mind.

Had you mentioned that said companies would be paying taxes to the Japanese of German governments, and not to ours, it might have sunk in.
