Many are scary as hell as well as an overstep as to his executive Power.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
-
They are all scary.
-
Not one of his EO's , but this one worries me.
Require criminal background checks for all gun sales.
That would eliminate all sales between individuals and possibly prevent you from leaving a gun to your heirs.
-
They are all scary.
even this one
12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.
-
even this one
Most of them. As for teachers and first responders, that is for the state to do, not federal.

It looks to me like he wants to create a bunch of new levels of bureaucracy.
In other words, more unionized government employees.

Unions, communism is there much difference these days?

Don't need control. Just morals and standards according to logical thinkers not emotional tinkerers.

Just got this in an email:
The conservative group FreedomWatch is suing the White House task force that led to the gun control proposals offered by President Barack Obama Wednesday.
FreedomWatch’s suit is based on the argument that the White House group conducted illegal meetings with lobbyists without public notice that’s required. The suit, which was filed in Florida federal court, seeks to eliminate the task force and prevent any of its proposals from becoming law, The Hill reports.

Boehner's noncommittal because he wants time to analyze what's there.

Senator Steve Stockman said he would file Impeachment and criminal charges if Obama went through with this. I called his office at 1-202-225-1555 to see if he was going to remain true to his word. I did not get an answer or Voice-mail. I am going to remain positive and believe it was because they are so busy answering other calls and writing up the articles.

I love this one,
4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
Considering the same AG armed criminals from across the border I imagine he is an expert on who shouldn't have a gun.

Would just be a waste of his time, there will be no support from anyone else in congress.

Difficult to say what that would end up meaning, though without national registration it would be meaningless in a trusted transaction...and raise the possibility that any such transaction with a relative stranger would potentially be an ATF sting, in the manner of the BS tactic that led to Ruby Ridge.

President Obama and Vice President Biden revealed their proposed reforms intended to reduce firearms related violence.
The proposal contains a mix of executive actions, regulations, and calls for Congress to act legislatively. The total package will cost at least $4.5 billion in new spending.
Among the new spending the president proposed:
• $4 billion for the president’s proposal “to help keep 15,000 cops on the streets in cities and towns across the country.†(That is roughly $266,000 per police officer.)
• $20 million to “give states stronger incentives to make [relevant] data available [for background checks] … “$50 million for this purpose in FY2014â€
• “$14 million to help train 14,000 more police officers and other public and private personnel to respond to active shooter situations.â€
• “$10 million for the Centers for Disease Control to conduct further research, including investigating the relationship between video games, media images, and violence.â€
• $20 million to expand the National Violent Death Reporting System.
• $150 million to “put up to 1,000 new school resource officers and school counselors on the job.â€
• “$30 million of one-time grants to states to help their school districts develop and implement emergency management plans.â€
• $50 million to help 8,000 schools “create safer and more nurturing school climates.â€
• $15 million to “provide “Mental Health First Aid†training for teachers.â€
• $40 million for school districts to “work with law enforcement, mental health agencies, and other local organizations to assure students with mental health issues or other behavioral issues are referred to the services they need.â€
• $25 million for state-based strategies that support “young people ages 16 to 25 with mental health or substance abuse issues.â€
• $25 million to “offer students mental health services for trauma or anxiety, conflict resolution programs, and other school-based violence prevention strategies.â€
• $50 million to “train social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other mental health professionals.â€

What disease are they trying to control I can't find any of this in the ICD-9 or DSM-IV.

Any moment now the shrinks will come out and say that a devotion to guns is a mental illness. That will mean that if you want a gun, then you must be mentally ill and won't be allowed a gun.
The DSM bows to political pressure and political correctness.
