Pat Robertson blames bad marriages on 'awful-looking' wives
Listen up, women! Brush your teeth, comb your hair, lose weight and put on some decent clothes. How else do you expect to keep your man, sayeth Pat Robertson.
During a recent episode of his "700 Club" show on the Christian Broadcasting Network, Robertson -- who married his wife in 1954 -- shared this bit of marital advice to "awful-looking" women everywhere.
"A woman came to a preacher that I know, and she was awful looking. I mean, her hair was all torn up and she was overweight and looked terrible, clothes bad and everything," he recounted.
"And she said, 'Oh, Reverend, what can I do? My husband has started to drink.' And the preacher looked at her and said, 'Madam, if I was married to you I'd start to drink too.'

So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you.

Robertson has a point with his old joke (sounds like something Churchill would have said). It's a sign of respect for both yourself and your spouse to be at least clean and well-groomed. Goes both ways. Your own beloved shouldn't need a spork alert before you enter a room.
