Rezko's ties to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. have created image problems for the White House hopeful. Rezko, a longtime friend and supporter of Obama's, raised tens of thousands of dollars for his campaigns, much of which Obama has since returned.
bumping in anticipation.

Rezko trial: What we know
-- Two weeks ago: jurors in Tony Rezko's trial asked for a transcript of witness Michael Winter's testimony. The judge said they couldn't have it -- or anyone's transcript testimony.
-- Last week, jurors indicated in a note they would stay late on two nights to help "conclude our decision." We took that to mean a decision was imminent.
Here we are a week later.
-- This week: Jurors on Monday say they cannot agree "on one count." They're brought in at about 2:30 p.m. and told to keep deliberating. We think a decision is imminent.
Here we are Wednesday morning.

The 2 money laundering counts could get him 20 years in the pen easy.

This could easily rub off on both Obama and Blago.

Rezko needs to cop a plea, and give up The BarackStar!
-
Ok, he can't cop a plea once he has been found guilty, but he could give him up for a reduced sentence.

I'd be willing to wager, that it does.
I already got an e-mail from the Illinois GOP:
Statement from Illinois Republican Party Chairman Andy McKenna regarding the Tony Rezko verdict:
"Today's guilty verdict for Tony Rezko is another sad reminder of the broken political system in Illinois and the continuing nightmare of corruption in this state.
"The headlines tomorrow will reduce an already diminished faith in public service from a people - who in Illinois - face the highest gas prices in the nation, huge taxes and out-of-control spending.
"Democrats promised change and the people of Illinois have gotten the same old song and dance.
"Now that the trial has come to an end, it's time Rod Blagojevich came clean with the people of Illinois and answered the numerous questions surrounding his involvement with Tony Rezko."

He may yet - the Obama-Rezko connection has been one of the most (deliberately) underreported stories of the year - the IL RNC chairman is right, the state, in particular Chicago, is known nationally for being the hotbed of political corruption.
