Howdy folks, I just signed up here. I am a proud non-partisan independent, pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment AMERICAN, U.S. Army veteran who stumbled across this place while trying to engage some left wingers on the gun control issue. I live in the western half of the western U.S., self employed craftsman, avid bowhunter and quite happy to be here :-)

Welcome, but you will please pardon me if I look askance at your non-partisan proclimation. That suggests someone without an opinion. :-)

Howdy. Rest assured that I am an opinionated bastard and I am of the opinion that both major parties have failed us miserably  Hence my lack of membership with either one.

Welcome, R_T. I share your disaffection with both of the major political parties, and the reason why I won't belong to either.
Well, besides the fact the Dems are ****ing lunatics. :whistling:

Well, I started out life as a democrat, switched to republican in my twenties, even was very active in party politics but then realized the republicans are not really conservative so I am now a member of the Constitution Party. :-)
But thanks for clearing up the "non-partisan" remark. Having been a member of a number of internet forums, most "non-partisans" usually turn out to be liberals. :hammer:

I started as a Republican, and eventually got fed up and became independent. In my observation though, it is more the people without a stated position in a public forum, rather than without a party affiliation who are more likely to be the liberals. They eventually out themselves though.
Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

Welcome, I share your political affiliation.

Thanks. No, I don't live in Texas. Don't have any relatives down there that I'm aware of either. I live in coastal N. California.

LOL, except for enclaves of hippies and pot growers, us Northerners tend to be rural and fairly conservative.
Again, thanks for the welcome, folks!
