Iconic TV host Huell Howser has died, according to KCET.

Howser, who hosted several public television programs including California's Gold, was 67.

He died Sunday night of natural causes, said Ayn Allen, communication manager for KCET, which produces California's Gold. She said Howser's death was "a complete surprise," and the station was planning a special to celebrate his life on SoCal Connected at 5:30 p.m.

Wow.  He seemed like a nice guy, too.

He was corny as hell but produced some great shows.  Sorry to see him go.

No, it's not.  Yeah, he was corny, but he was a hell of a nice guy.
