What happened to the payroll tax holiday in the fiscal cliff deal?
Anybody know? Mrs. Bake said her SS withholding went up. I don't know.

I thought DU was full of informed people yet once again they are surprised by something all us conservatives have been saying was coming.

My FICA almost doubled.

These so called taxes go into their individual SS/Medicare retirement accounts. Not quite the same thing as just handing over your money to Federal and State income taxes.

The problem with that is, they raid those accounts so they can pay for the ponies they promised the 0bamaphone people.

Yeah I agree what 0bama should have done was reduced the marginal tax rates if he wanted to help, but he's a democrat and they honestly believe the more we pay in taxes the better off we are. :mental:

We need more people working and paying into it. I recently read an article that in NM, there were 138 people getting government payments vs 100 people working in the private sector.
That is not sustainable.

The payroll tax "holiday" expired in order to keep SS from going over the fiscal cliff sooner than Lord Zero wanted it to, you F'N moocher!

yep, dummies, it's a 2.2% increase on a tax for which there are no deductions, no minimum salary, no tax credits.
however paltry your 'income' may be, it will be 2.2% LESS this year.

I really wish that Boehner had the balls to let the Bush tax cuts expire for everyone, and not just rename them the Obama Cuts. Now Obama can say that he cut most people's taxes, yet they are going to see a smaller paycheck. Some people will see the lie, but most won't.

It's going to be amusing in 2014, when they realize that everyone the 2013 tax increase was supposed to hit figured out how to avoid it completely.

Namely Obummer's rich buddies.
Cavuto showed that we are going to get a whopping 62 billion a year out of the tax on the 2% and that it will be spent in about 6.4 days.
This was nothing more than a big political dog and pony show.
Also, there was a bunch of Pork attached to it.

The money is insignificant in federal terms, but the entire point was class warfare, which is the heart of the democrat party philosophy.
The democrat party doesn't care what happens to the economy if they can feel they're sticking it to the man.

It was also Obama's goal to make GOP'ers break their vow to raise taxes and cause more disunity in the GOP. This is part of their plan to get more Dims elected in 2014.
