Pawn Shop Owner: 'I Will Sell No More Guns-I broke into tears seeing types of firearms I'm selling'
SEMINOLE, Fla. - As a pawn shop owner, Frank James was always a big believer in gun rights and the second amendment. After all, it was his bread and butter business.
But after what he saw in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday, he's had a change of heart. "I basically broke into tears and looked up on the wall, seeing the types of firearms I am selling," James said.
At the Loan Star Pawn store in Seminole, a glass display case that once housed several Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifles is now empty. The glass counters normally filled with handguns has been completely cleared.
"I'm not going to be part of it anymore," James said. He has several copies of the exact rifle suspected in the massacre.

I'm not buying that a big believer in gun rights would all of a sudden be anti gun because of one horrible incident. I'm also not buying that he would give up his "bread and butter" as it is called in the article.

1. Florida needs more people like him
Why feed the gun culture in a state like Florida.

owns the gun store in town. He is doing a brisk business.
He does not have the integrity that this man has for sure.
How does he not have integrity? He is selling legal devices to people who can legally own them.

15. "The decision will be costly..."
Someone needs to get that guy an online shopping site, people will buy from him for doing this.
How about that someone be him? What is it with DUmmies and always wanting others to do the work for other people?

17. Guy's doing this because of his conscience.....
And to me, that makes him a honorable person in my eyes.
He did it for publicity he is hoping to make a truckload of bucks off of emotional sacks of shit like you DUmmies.

39. I bet he has no problem buying gold at half his selling price.
I also bet if some joe comes in and asks what he'd give to a 42" Sony he'd have no problem with that guy going out and charging it to a card and giving him half the price to buy drugs with.
On the plus side it's nice to see him take a stand on selling firearms if he feels that strongly.
Even when the DUmp finds a new hero of the day someone finds some evil that he is still doing. :rotf:

Strange I have to go back and reread the original reports on the school shootings. For some reason I thought the big guns were left in the trunk of the car and the murder spree was done with hand guns.
I keep reading that the murders were committed with the big guns, the Uzis and what ever. I guess I got this all wrong.

He could have used a kitchen knife and stabbed a bunch of people to death, but if they found a gun in the trunk of his car they still would be on the banpath for guns.

I know a guy in Florida who owns an incense and unicorn gift shop. He's always been anti-gun. After the shooting he said that he realized that a bullet from a good guy could have stopped the bad guy no matter what kind of weapon the bad guy was using. He says he's going to convert his incense and unicorn gift shop into a gun mart. I guess we're the numbers haven't changed.

Unlike an abortion doctor that has complete moral integrity in the eyes of a DUchebag.
Integrity = believing in the same thing a DUche does.

Even if it was true there are plenty of gun stores that will welcome the new found business. Some companies are reporting a 6 month backlog in getting product to stores everywhere.

Meh, looking at his pitiful website he didn't do a big gun business if any at all. I didn't really see any in the pics. (http://www.loanstarpawnshop.com/pawnshopphotos.html)

The info page at that site doesn't even mention guns. Most all of the pawn shop around here make sure to mention gold, silver, and guns.

My bad. My eyeballs aren't as sharp as the used to be. That's a mighty small font for someone who wants to get the word out though.

BATFE probably looked at their books one too many times and the owners figured it was safer to just give up their gun selling license than to go to court at some future date.
-
This clown was probably already sold out and, being a pawn shop relying on incoming items that no one is selling, decided it would be a wonderful opportunity to get a few of his 15 minutes of publicity fame.
After all, this is from Wonkette.

Anyone want to guess that his inventory was Hi points and Ravens? Mostly Gang banger stuff?

That is what I was thinking. No weapons left in stock. The guy is actually pretty smart. He got his company's name out there for some free publicity.

Never underestimate the keen moral sensibility of a pawn shop operator.

I've wandered into a few pawn shops over the years.
Not really a place where you can get a bargin.
Very seldom did I see what might be thought of as high end.
Most is junk suited to wall hanging, and asking price is out of line.
The paperwork and regulations they have to abide by are tremendous.
Many won't deal with firearms at all, because of that.
I suspect that guy is one of those, seeking a little attention.

Exactly. The pics show any of a half dozen Pawn Shops near me that all dwell in strip malls, barely have enough space to fart in and none sell guns. Guns take up space and his little shop just doesn't have the room.
