Oliver stone believes that we are in an Orwellian time. Wonder what took him so long and why he voted for it? This is what pissed me off the most about the whole Obama thing. People were so tired of President Bush, that they voted for a Stalin wanna be. And now they act surprised by his actions.
Mods, if this is the wrong spot, please move it. I figured here or Mind Numbing Stupidity. Couldn't decide.

Americans are living in an Orwellian state argue Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone and historian Peter Kuznick, as they sit down with RT to discuss US foreign policy and the Obama administration’s disregard for the rule of law.
ÂBoth argue that Obama is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and that people have forgiven him a lot because of the “nightmare of the Bush presidency that preceded him.â€
“He has taken all the Bush changes he basically put them into the establishment, he has codified them,†Stone told RT. “It is an Orwellian state. It might not be oppressive on the surface, but there is no place to hide. Some part of you is going to end up in the database somewhere.â€
According to Kuznick, American citizens live in a fish tank where their government intercepts more than 1.7 billion messages a day. “That is email, telephone calls, other forms of communication.â€
RT’s Abby Martin in the program Breaking the Set discusses the Showtime film series and book titled The Untold History of the United States co-authored by Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick.

Nah, nothing quite that noble or relevatory. He's pimping a book and a show, nothing more. His reasoning behind his conclusion is typical Stone - shadows and conspiracies.
Nothing new here, just more of the same bullshit.

^^^This.
If it's one thing that Stone is good at, it's creating conspiracy stories. It's what ****sticks like him do.

True. But its the fact that he acts all surprised and butt hurt that its happening.

Peter does ask a good question but does not give a good answer; "Why are people so uninformed?"
pssst, Peter, it's the democrat media you are part of.......
It's mostly more liberal drivel.

What else is needed for a conspiracy theory?

A movie script written by none other than Oliver Stone? A movie directed by same?

Good point. But that is just icing on the cake. Liberals don't need to go that far. However, Stone will feed them what they really want.

Call me cynical but...
He is promoting a book. He had this book written months ago, but was going to release it at this time. I contend he thought that Romney was going to be the president elect, and at that time he would have had far more impact.
I sense that the Obama win, while making people ecstatic at the actual election, was not nearly as "fun" the first time around and people are seeing through the facade that the GOP is the ones screwing things up, and Stone's admission, while spot on to a certain degree, actually applies more to the socialist/Orwellian oppression than that of conservative thought.
