Sure, why not? It isn't his money. :whatever:
If anything, they deserve a pay cut to offset the damage they've done.
-
What's the big deal? It's only monopoly money. Hell, the Zimbabwe dollar is gonna be worth more by the time our Comrades in DC are done with us.
-
I mean why not? The congress and the Preezzzy have been working sooooooo hard(do I need the sarcasm smiley???). Its rough trying to live like a king.

Obama Orders Raise for Biden, Members of Congress, Federal Workers
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-orders-raise-biden-members-congress-federal-workers_692223.html
President Barack Obama issued an executive order to end the pay freeze on federal employees, in effect giving some federal workers a raise. One federal worker now to receive a pay increase is Vice President Joe Biden.
According to disclosure forms, Biden made a cool $225,521 last year. After the pay increase, he'll now make $231,900 per year.
Members of Congress, from the House and Senate, also will receive a little bump, as their annual salary will go from $174,000 to 174,900. Leadership in Congress, including the speaker of the House, will likewise get an increase.
Here is a list of the new wages... http://www.opm.gov/oca/compmemo/2012/2013PAY_Attach.pdf

In the grand scheme of things, it's a drop in the bucket.
But that was a ringing bitchslap I got from Barry and his henchmen. It left a welt on my face.
**** you, Barry.
Now that the election's over, you can do what you want, can't you? Asshole.

Isn't that what he whispered to Putin?

Isn't that what he whispered to Putin?
Actually that was Putin's stooge Medvedev, but I don't think he had Slo Joe's pay raise in mind. :whatever:

No. I think he meant he would have more flexibility in bending over for Putin to put it in.

Barry's good at bending over.

That's what I was talking about.

And in the meantime, most of the rest of us left with jobs will be faced with far less in our take-home pay, thanks to 1--increased taxes, 2--increased insurance premiums, and what's left will be eaten that much faster due to the mismanaged economy which has seen "REAL" inflation on the order of 8-12 percent.
Just one day closer to "going Galt." I'm seeing so many people in their early 60's saying screw it and retiring now just so they can get SOME of what they put into the system.

Obama hikes pay of select officials
Boston Herald

[Excerpt]
As millions of Americans face smaller paychecks if the government fails to act to avoid the fiscal cliff, President Obama has raised the ire of some conservative critics by quietly handing over pay hikes — estimated to cost more than $1 billion a year — to Congress, high-ranking federal officials, judges and Vice President Joe Biden.

Boy, this one really pisses me off. In the private sector these days, raises are becoming more and more rare due to the economy and an uncertain future. But let's make sure select federal employees get a raise. It irks me that he tries to sneak this through too. Obama must have read that article about congressmen sleeping in their offices and felt sorry for them.
-
The debt ceiling has been hit, tax raises for everyone and a pay freeze for the lowly federal employees - but Congress? No worries as none of this applies to them.
-
Is it because they are doing such a good job? :sarcasm:
-
Its what they dream of! Redistribution of wealth from the subjects to them!
-
This guy is a total classless and arrogant asshole. He keeps droning on about how we all need to have skin in the game and sacrifice, and then he pulls bullshit like this. Why did he do this now and not prior to November 6th?

We often hear the DUmmies and ows crowd bitch and moan about CEO's getting high salaries and big bonuses while the worker bees don't get a raise or are being laid off because business is suffering. I'm waiting for that same DUmmy outrage at this act of irresponsibility by their false god.

Where is the Occupy Wall Street crowd? I consider politicians worse than CEOs. Politicians waste our tax money. ::)

I agree...

I noticed there is a raise in there for John Boehner, er, I mean The Speaker of The House. The timing looks like a bribe. :fuelfire:
-
All during the campaign you heard Obama saying he stood for the middle class, yet gives no raise for us in the middle class. Only raises for non working bureaucrats :bird:
-
Republicans in congress should show the Rats that we have principles by not accepting this pay raise.
-
I really don't know how any of them can sleep at night. I don't know what to say, I'm so disgusted.

They're the Kommissars. We're the proles. What's not to get. They sleep quite comfortably at night.

My stepson's girlfriend, 20 years old, is one of those incredibly idealistic, naive, and überliberals that just make you cringe when you hear them talk. She thinks Mother Jones is a publication sanctioned by God (if she actually believed in one).
She's a good kid, just completely suckered in by the Austin, TX liberal community.
At any rate, she is working toward a degree in "public policy" which is, of course, just a euphemism for "politics." She adores the idea of going to any place where somebody is making decisions that affect tens of thousands or millions of lives.
One thing that simply puzzles me.
Why are people attracted to power like that? What makes them think they will have the answers?
To her credit, she's going to be working an internship for state rep Todd Hunter (R). She claims to be interested in how the "other side" thinks. Meh.
But this is how these critters get into the political elite class. They go to school, get their law degrees, and start in local politics, always looking ahead for the next opportunity.
