<snip>
Former President George H.W. Bush will not leave a Houston hospital until he's made a full recovery.
A Bush spokesperson says the former president has had a few days where he hasn't had much energy, so doctors at Methodist Hospital are putting off his discharge until he's fully recovered.
Bush had been expected to go home sometime this weekend.
The 88-year-old has been in the hospital since Thanksgiving for treatment of a lingering cough related to bronchitis.
----------------
Thanksgiving was November 22nd. Last week they said he was going home for Christmas.

Starts normally enough. With a tongue in cheek "Hate Bush" thread revving up. Then things get a bit more interesting.

4. I'm thinking pneumonia, ventilator
Spaghetti arrangements of tubes for oxygen, nutrition, heart monitor, the whole array of ultimately useless treatments for a family that refuses reality - or until they can milk maximum political benefit for the heirs via "heartwarming" bedside anecdotes.
So be it, unless Pres. O has to shrink much earned and needed RandR and family time to make one more funereal address, and this time for one not as worthy as Sandy Hook or Inohe (sp?). It's a full court press for a past President and I hope he makes it past the holidays, for Obama if for no other reason.
Sick people, man.
The bonfire is small, but it will certainly grow.

So what would you have the family do, dummie? Put the man in a hospice to die? It ain't like he got incurable cancer. One day in the future dummie that just may be you. I hope your family has the same opinion of you if that time comes. Karma and all that. You reap what you sow. :censored:

They hate this man for one reason, he had an R behind his name. This is who we're dealing with, people. Keep that in mind when the bullets start flying. It's good to know who the enemy is. These are that Damn jackasses that don't want a f'n Al Qaeda terrorist in Guantanamo Bay, but have no PROBLEM with you being there.
I'm ready. Just get it the **** over with. :censored:

20. You are so right. We just had this happen with an 86 year old relative who
was admitted to the hospital yesterday. He is a diabetic. We noticed a cough and some labored breathing and called the ambulance. Today they told us he could go home after tests revealed viral pneumonia. We protested as it was raining and cold and we wanted him to stay one more night. But the doctor refused, stating that 'if he can walk, we cannot keep him'. He can walk very unsteadily with a walker so they sent him home with a prescription for an anti-biotic and a virtual book of instructions for the family.
I said to the doctor 'if he was Dick Cheney would he be going home in this condition'?
I guess not.

12. Meh
****er's probably on life-support and the family is lying about his condition...for whatever their reasons.
You're quite the disgusting human being, no? One hopes you find yourself in that situation down the line.

Get used to it, DUmpmonkey.
You'll soon be at the mercy of the muslim's Death Panels.
People of means, like Vice President Cheney and a few million others, will not.

I'm gradually coming over to your position, Reb. It's just a matter of time. :whistling:
