Title: mopaul still a weirdo, nerd, loner, misfit, outcast,... some things never change

I was one of those weird, loner kids in high school

I remember the high school years as very painful and lonely. For some kids its a blast to be in high school, on the football team, on the cheer leading squad, etc., but for the weirdo kids, the loners and misfits and outcasts, high school is hell.

I was like the latest weirdo shooter, I often daydreamed about taking my dad's 44 magnum to school and shooting the bullies who always picked on me, and then wasting the teachers that I hated. I don't know if other kids had the kind of daydreams I had, but I'm just being honest, I was a freako, weirdo, nerd, who the bullies loved to pick on, and I had no courage to fight back or defend myself.

One time on the school bus home, one bully bloodied my nose for a joke and I just sat there bleeding with all the kids laughing at me, boys and girls, and I just took it.

Poor, poor miserable me, I know, I think most kids are bullied at some point, it's just nature and it can be cruel. Anyway, I never did kill anyone in a mass shootout blaze of glory, but I sure thought about it, but never seriously. I also considered using my dad's shooter to end it all at the tender age of 15. I was one miserable, ****ed up kid, but back then, they had no school psychiatrists, only useless counselors.

Every time another one of these horrible school shootings occur I always think of my painful years in high school, and I'm very uncomfortable remembering how I was, and how similar to the shooters I was. I had easy access to several large handguns which were always laying around the house, but I never snapped.

I wish I didn't relate to these killer kids so much, I wish my high school years had been brighter, and I feel so bad for kids like this latest devil who couldn't control himself any longer and snapped. Sympathy for the devil I guess.

Were YOU one of 'those' kids? Do you know of one of those kids? Kids like that need a little extra attention, and a little extra observation, and a little understanding. Today schools are more aware of bullying, and now there's cyber-bullying. Today's kids have a lot more for their heads to wrap around than I did, but kids are still kids, and some of them are living in severe mental pain.

I had no pills to help me then, no psychotropic meds for depression or dyslexia, which I have too, I had no adults to understand or comfort me, and somehow I survived to today. But every time one of these awful massacres happens, I thank the stars that I made it through unscathed. Suffer the little children to come unto me.

More proof that 99.9% of all DUmpmonkeys should be on a "No Gun" list.
More proof that 99.9% of all DUmpmonkeys are the misfits we all knew they were.
More proof that 99.9% of all DUmpmonkeys  are the bitter losers we all knew they were.

It is nice that occasionally they do tell the truth about there poor psychological condition.

You know, I don't remember anybody in high school who had no friends.  The "weird" kids found other "weird" kids to hang out with.  I was quiet and shy, but I always had friends.  Maybe I'm weird, but I don't remember any bullying that occurred in high school.

I think the bullying and cruelty are worse today CR, because so many of the kids have no moral core.

I have a good friend who is a teacher, and she deals with a lot of parents who don't expect their kids to need to take responsibility for anything.  They expect a high school math teacher to be responsible for their child doing her homework.  I knew the consequences of misbehavior at school, it would not have been tolerated by my parents, period.  There are too many parents who are too willing to tolerate their children's poor behavior, and teachers have their hand's tied.  Also, the "no tolerance" policies have created a situation where the victims can get in as much trouble as the bullies.  Not good anyway we look at it.

I was a fat, frizzy red headed, bottle coke glasses, huge gapped mouth, kid. I was tormented in school. I can't tell you how many black boys I beat the shit out of.  I had 3 friends that I remember.

That may be partially true, Karin.

But also, a lot of bullying was solved "back in the day" by having a resolution by fighting it out off of school grounds.  At least among guys.

I personally think it is a cause being propped up by the media, but I also agree with your point to some extent.

No, really, it does....   :whatever:

Here is one thing you and I have in common, misfit:  We were both picked on in school.  That is where the similarity ends, though.  Unlike you, I decided to take control of my situation and end the problem.  When I discovered the joys of football, wrestling, and weight lifting, the bullying stopped.  Through weight lifting and athletic conditioning, I became bigger, faster, and stronger.  Close contact sports like football and wrestling meant that I had carte blanche to dish out as much punishment as I possibly could to those who tormented me when I was younger.  When they figured out that the skinny kid they used to pick on could put them on their asses at will, the bullshit stopped.

Also, unlike you, I refused to let high school define the rest of my life nor do I wallow in misery over something that happened decades ago.  I have nothing in common with these little shits that shoot up unarmed people and that is because I refuse to be, like you, a whiny bitch.  Maybe if some of these kids were taught some reality instead of having cowardly weaklings (like you) coddling them, they might have hardened up a bit and been better prepared for that big, bad world outside of the front door.  For those that actually needed help, maybe they would have gotten it instead of having to deal with a saturated system in which "teachers" deposited the kids they didn't want to deal with.

Quote

I had no pills to help me then, no psychotropic meds for depression or dyslexia, which I have too, I had no adults to understand or comfort me, and somehow I survived to today.

Neither did I, but I have done a hell of a lot better than you.  My mother was there to pick me up, kick me in the pants, and not let me feel sorry for myself.  It works really well for most, maybe someone should have tried it on you?

My entire family stayed here, but I couldn't wait to leave. Now, many years later, as if fate has a cruel sense of humor, I'm back in that same town taking care of an aging mother. I find that the people haven't changed at all and it's like I'm living in the movie Ground Hog Day.

Whenever I have to go to the store or venture out in public for any reason I try to ignore the vile, despicable, filth that populate this sewer but they never fail to try to pull you into their gossip mongering rumor mill. Inappropriate use of the quote.  I don't think the DUmmie understands the word "suffer" in this context.

Gina, I was plain in high school, and didn't "bloom" until I went off to college.  Isn't it fun to come home after a long absence.  "What are doing on my doorstep?"   :-)

Mopaul actually tells a conservative truth here and doesn't realize it..With these lines

Quote

I was one miserable, ****ed up kid, but back then, they had no school psychiatrists, only useless counselors.

Now we also had no shrinks, only counselors. To the best of my memory there were no SHOOTINGS and only 1 suicide from a grad class of almost 500. This was in 1968
The shrinks, counselors ,excuse makers and blame someone else liberals have FU**ED this to the max.

Get out of our lives...our schools...our businesses.. our home lives..ETC ETC and maybe ,just maybe we can save this

THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE.

Kids today do not understand that things are either right or wrong-sometimes there is just no middle ground. When I was a kid (way back in the 80's lol) there were some things we knew you never teased another kid about. Kids today don't care, they'll pick on a kid for anything and don't care that they've caused someone else pain. Kids today lack empathy, they lack a sense of morality. It's horrible.

As a bouncy goes, I rate this a 2, on a scale of ten.

He could have gotten a higher bouncy score if he had actually offed him/her/it self and THEN come back to tell us about it.

Me either.  I hung with the jocks until I rapidly discovered that hanging with the freaks and the gearheads was a whole lot more fun and still take out cheerleaders.    :II:  I don't ever remember seeing anyone, weird or otherwise, that I would categorize as someone who would.  I think most everyone goes through a misfit stage at some point in high school, even the jocks.  Everyone was allowed (and expected) to grow out of it.  These idiots were never allowed to or refused to.  (D)ummies: Arrested adolescence with a high estrogen count.

I wasn't Mr. Cool, or in the running for prom king, or the captain of the football team, or any of that.  I wasn't rich, my first car was 13 years old.  Yet I had a ton of friends who enjoyed hanging out with me.  Hell, I'm the guy that showed up to prom with seven dates.

I suspect I can point to two things, I was always doing something that I thought was cool (and looking for a partner in crime), and I am one of the most kind hearted people that most of my friends say they have ever met.

Look at the DUmmies, were they building home-made rockets for a couple of weeks, then tearing apart a an old lawn mower and a R/C toy truck to try and make an R/C lawnmower?  Does anyone here think that the DUmmies didn't hate everyone in their school who showed up with a newer car, or had friends, or was dating the "girl/guy they couldn't get"?

To mopaul:  You want to know why that bully puched you in the nose and everyone laughed at you while you bled?  You had been a jerk and a bully to everyone around you, they didn't like you because you made it obvious that you didn't like them.  But even then, you could have saved a little face.  You could have fought back, but instead you decided to be a little proto-emo and cry about it.

Did it ever occur to DUmmie LeftofZero the problem may not be the "vile, despicable, filth that populate this sewer of a town", but may lie squarely between the eyes of said DUmmie LeftofZero.

I'm sure the "vile, despicable, filth that populate this sewer of a town" can't wait for the day for DUmmie LeftofZero's smelly, freakish, worthless ass to vacate their "cesspool of a town", and the sooner, the better.  I'll bet there are more than a few that would HELP DUmmie LeftofZero leave if and when he so desired to leave.

To quote the late, great Redd Foxx:
"Statistics have shown that 1 out of every 4 people is a freak.  So pick out 3 of your friends.  If they're alright, then it's YOU!"

So, in summary, DUmmie LeftofZero, the problem isn't the "cesspool of a town you were raised in", or even the "vile, despicable, filth that populate this sewer of a town", it is YOU, DUmmie LeftofZero.

You're an ASS!   :redbird:

I loved high school! I had all kinds of friends from many different cliques. Almost all my boyfriends were pretty decent. The one I was with the longest, until right after graduation, is a great guy. Found him on facebook a couple years ago. Still likes to fish, still pretty handsome. I'm still friends with a couple of people I knew in middle school. We're still joined at the hip even though we don't get to see each other as often...but we do have damn fun and very rowdy girls weekends a few times a year. It's not a sober weekend by any stretch of the imagination. Booze, Balderdash & Pictionary. One of my friends, our birthdays are within 3 days of each other, we're not allowed to be partners anymore because we can practically read each others' mind so we usually guess before either of us draws more than a couple lines.

It's not that I didn't have any teenage angst...I was loaded with it. But I made some of the best friends I've ever had.

We all had friends in HS, looks like. Even if it was just 2 or 3.

The difference between all of us and the DUmmies is that we chose to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off instead of wallowing in the angst that riddles nearly all high schoolers.

I agree with the moral core. No one is taught absolutes anymore. Right and wrong are relative. Kids are coddled and teachers and administrators are yelled at for kids getting bad grades (and, in one case I personally know of, the girl getting pregnant!).  Parents are BFFs and not authority figures anymore.

I could go on and on about this, and the feminization of males, blatant misandry, and weak/absent father figures that IMHO is the root cause of all of this. But I'll leave that for another post.
