Due to complications, my daughter, who is pregnant with identical twin boys, is in the hospital on bed rest until the delivery. This is the 31st week.
I'm not sure I understand all I need to about this, but what I know is there is a situation with twin-to-twin transfusion which is causing one twin to be deprived of all he needs to thrive. This is being closely monitored and they are prepared to perform a C-section on a minutes notice.
Please keep my sweet daughter, her babies, and her family, in your prayers.
God Bless and Merry Christmas

Undies, my prayers go out to you.
Basically, one twin is getting more blood out of the placenta than the other. One may be born smaller, anemic, and pale. The other one bigger and redder (due to more blood).
I know this because my wife's doctors thought twins had it, but it was never diagnosed. They were monitored and kept close enough size wise until my wife had the C-Section. One of the twins was "plugged in" near the center of the placenta, and the other one was "plugged in" near the edge.
From what I remember, and what my wife helped me remember, there's a hospital in the SW (AZ or NM, we believe) that specializes in this.

That makes sense. Thanks. I was "glazed over" when the doctor was explaining it.
We're in north Texas.

I'm praying for your daughter, the twins, and your whole family. Please keep us informed on how she is doing.

Thanks you for the prayers and good thoughts.
One more thing: My daughter is diabetic now due to the pregnancy. She is taking insulin. Chances are she will return to normal function after the babies are out and about. Pray she is.
My daughter is no "spring chicken". She is 35 years old. There are two other kids at home. 13 and 9. This will not be easy. :p

My mom was 37 when she had me; look how we'll I turned out.

Oh Lord! Brain damage, :o

Prayers said for all of their health and safety, and for wisdom and discernment for her healthcare providers. It sounds like the doctors are watching her carefully, and I doubt there is a safer place for her and her children than right where she is now. The vast majority of gestational diabetics do go right back to normal shortly after giving birth.

Sending prayer, Undies, for Momma and babies, and for all the rest of you. Sometimes it's harder to be the one watching the process than to be the one in the process.
Hugs. :grouphug:

Let me add your family to my prayer list, Undies. Let's hope those young 'uns can stay right where they're at as long as possible. :cheersmate:
